Pathfinder 1E Broken Rules in Pathfinder

Yeah, I remember seeing that. I live in fear that somebody who is kind of ... math challenged will take that feat in one of my games sometime. Same fear I have of dynamic arrays in Mutants & Masterminds. Few things more frustrating than a player who has bitten more arithmetic than they can...

Pathfinder 1E Would an "expanded" Pathfinder Beginner game be of interest?

Some of the material here may be of interest to you. Nothing that takes the game past 5th level, but classes and monsters get some expansion. https://edowarsblog.wordpress.com/downloads/

The Pathfinder Iconics Meet Other Fantasy Characters In Pathfinder: Worldscape Comic

I'm loving the gaming material in these comics. I read the John Carter of Mars series 40 years ago (I'm old) and seeing official rules for a Thark -- man, I want to play one! Although my attempts to translate the Sword-Devil archetype (so perfect for a character I created back in 1st edition...

D&D 5E The Official Poll! What THREE things do you like most about D&D 5th Edition?

I'm the same way, in that I like both games and play both games. Because it is great to be able to create a character in 10 minutes, but I also enjoy the minutia of working out those feat trees and other picky details that the Pathfinder haters hate. Playing both gives me the best of both worlds.

Pathfinder 1E What Made You Switch To Pathfinder?

I was another one not impressed by 4e. Didn't so much hate it as just didn't feel that "Oh, I gotta play this" burn that the 3rd edition gave me when I opened that book. I didn't jump on the Pathfinder bandwagon immediately, though. I looked at how much 3rd edition material I have, both .0...

D&D 5E Dealing with a trouble player and a major blow up

"...he ruled that darkvision could see through the darkness created by a spell because the spell didn't specify that the darkness was magical." It shouldn't have to, because it's clear from the concept of "what words mean". If someone had used a dispel magic on the area, and the spell was...

    MM3e Thoughts? Actual Play Experiences?

My experience with actually getting to play any edition of M&M was minimal. Based on reading rules, 3e did make some improvements but also screwed up some things that were just fine in terms of 2e, to the point that I prefer the older edition. A best-of-both would've been a truly great game.

Exclusive OCCULT ADVENTURES Preview for PATHFINDER!

I find that there is far too much food in the world, and all those recipe options ... it's too much! I could never eat all of it, and some of it I don't even like at all!

    PATHFINDER UNCHAINED: Magic Items

At least one of the prices (probably the tiara) is obviously a typo. Maybe a 1.000 was put in as a placeholder on all of the wonders and/or baubles and this one got missed when putting the real prices in? Probably too late to fix it in the book if that's true, though.

    [UPDATED] Pathfinder Unchained Contents Spoilers

It's because Pathfinder is seen as having options to the point of being out of hand, and the folks over at Hasbro want to make sure that doesn't happen with 5e. What's missed on that is, IMHO, source material should be out of hand, to be mined as the GM sees fit for making their own campaigns...

Skills & Feats From PATHFINDER UNCHAINED

There are people out there, the late Harold Camping for example, who love to predict the end of the world. When it doesn't happen, they just revise their estimate. But it's always "soon". And if, by chance, the world ever does end, those people will be jumping up and down saying, "See! See...

Pathfinder 1E Do Inquisitors need to be so serious?

Let me clarify that the Solomon Kane thing was my initial "vibe" from the class. Yes, everything can be played against type, and playing against type can make for a lot of fun, of course. But playing against type does mean that there's a "type" to begin with.

Pathfinder 1E Do Inquisitors need to be so serious?

I first thought on seeing the Inquisitor was "Oh, Solomon Kane". So yeah, I see them as pretty grim, too ...

Pathfinder 1E Fixing The Pathfinder Game System

It sure does, but it really isn't too surprising that things turned out that way. In the attempt to appeal to fans of all editions of D&D, the best strategy for incorporating flavor of 3rd would be to do it in a way that would draw in those who liked the idea of 3e but have lower complexity...

Pathfinder 1E Fixing The Pathfinder Game System

Very cool resource, Starfox. It reminds me that a lot of Pathfinder fans are also HeroLab users from what I can tell (and I am one as well). I see your fun/complexity threshold is that you'll run a Pathfinder adventure but you won't create one. That's your threshold, and everybody has one...

Pathfinder 1E Fixing The Pathfinder Game System

Wolf, I don't know that it's so much generation thing -- it could be, I'm an old guy, too -- but it's undoubtedly in large part a personality thing. And if I misphrase what I'm saying easily misunderstood to be me saying it's an intelligence thing, which it is not. Well, maybe in a couple of...

Pathfinder 1E Fixing The Pathfinder Game System

Agreed. Yes, there's a lot of material, but as a player, you only need to know the rules that relate to your character. I've seen posters say "I'll play Pathfinder, but I won't run it." That shows their complexity-ruins-my-fun-threshold, and that's really what we're talking about. The GM has...

Pathfinder 1E Fixing The Pathfinder Game System

Speaking of Crafty Games, did they ever come out with their science fiction/space opera material? What they did with the spy stuff always had me optimistic about how they would handle that genre.

    Nature's Remedy: 5E Herbalism

Thanks, Morrus. Based on what you're saying to other people, am I to understand that if I sign up before the end of the month, I'll be able to access the Herbalism article on April 1, but if I sign up on April 2 I have to wait until Ultron Day to be able to get the Herbalism article?
