    Not receiving subscription emails

Hi - I've stopped receiving thread subscription emails to threads I'm subscribed to. I still get soem other emails, including emails about posters quoting me but no subscriptions. :erm:

    D&D 5E Announcement coming February 6th

It's a 3e book so DDB wouldn't have anything regardless!

D&D 5E Do Shield (spell) and Mage Armour stack?

Sometimes I do miss the whole 3e named bonuses thing. I have had a bit of a hunt and I think that Mage Armour and Shield stack with each other but I can't find a clear ruling. The closest is this which seems to make a differentation between setting your AC (like Mage Armour does) and a bonus to...

    D&D 5E Announcement coming February 6th

I would suggest that books on one type of monster (dragons, undead etc) are pretty unlikely in 5e - they jsut don't seem to fit with WotC's publishing philosophy. I imagine the thinking is that a smaller book with lots of monster types will appeal to a wide audience better han a massive book all...

It's Time To Pre-Order Your Copy Of Into The Borderlands

Luckily you don't need to imagine. They've explained it: http://goodman-games.com/blog/2018/01/21/into-the-borderland-faq/ I think the book looks interesting and if I was in the US I'd probably get it but the price in Australia (or worse, postage to Australia) puts me off. In terms of who the...

Critical Role Critical Role Campaign 2

Thanks also for the language feedback. The kids are 9 and 11 and very interested but I think it was more ‘can I watch with them around?’ than ‘will they want to watch’. A few f bombs are ok in our house but maybe not a steady stream. If I watch I’ll try it out without them. Sent from my iPad...

Critical Role Critical Role Campaign 2

One of the reasons I want to watch it is because of its importance but it’s just too much time to invest - I don’t play my own game 4 hours a week let alone have a spare 4 hours to watch other people play. That is part of why its impact seems so generational. Sent from my iPad using EN World

How PG is the language? Could I watch with my kids around? Sent from my iPad using EN World

    D&D 5E Wizard Spells

I was going to post something but then cbwjm said what I thought. I just don't see this as a huge issue, especially as they're going to want to prepare different spells regardless so they can maximise the things they can do.

All fair enough except... Could you just tell them not to be so annoying?

    D&D 5E Wizard Spells

A couple of points on this 1) I do tend to make most 1-3 level spells pretty easy to get. It's the high level spells that are hard to negotiate for 2) Previous editions did make it harder with spell rarity tables etc. 3) The above tends to assume that wizards are common place and still fairly...

    D&D 5E Wizard Spells

I've always felt this sort of thing should be the inspiration for all good wizard spell negotiations: http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?58227-Tales-of-Wyre&p=1029425&viewfull=1#post1029425 The whole story hour is totally worth reading if you enjoy this...

    D&D 5E Wizard Spells

I have always loved to play wizards and to engage with PC wizards as a DM. I love the RP opportunities that come from the negotiation over access to spells. I have always tended to limit the spells available but not too much - as long as people are making an effort to roleplay then it's all...

I'm not sure why people are so hostile to the idea that having a network of gaming shops is good for he hobby but whatever. This will be my last post on the matter. If they don't care, they don't care. No skin off my nose. No I think it's a wide variety of things including Stranger Things...

    D&D 5E Mike Mearls - Reddit AMA

I don't think that's a fact. I get emails from one game shop close to me which is running something like 5 different RPG groups a week and have run parents and kids intro D&D sessions during the school holidays (http://www.kayjays.com.au/events.html). I know people who are playing AD&D 1e in...

Because when done well, physical spaces allow for community to develop and provide an easier access point for new players and a wider variety of games. I don't really care if you do or not but if you've got a good local shop then it's good for you for it to survive for those reasons.
