    D&D 5E Skill Ranking

It’s good-ish if you have it but never necessarily (and most uses might have a dm call for stealth instead.)

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

The Artillerist? Yeah, it’s a good pet. The temp hp can soak up a lot if the party does spread out too much. Although I first thought you meant the Battlesmith who gets a permanent robopuppy - which is a less impressive but still powerful pet. I do agree the wildfire druid’s summoned thingie...

    D&D 5E Reducing Power Gaming

Agreed: my go-to narration is “the other guy’s defenses worked.” So it bounced if the armor/got blocked/was dodged etc. A nat 1 or single-digit total might get a “you goofed” narration, but only then and only that.

D&D General Group Names: What to Say When Everyone Picks the Same Class

An arrogance of elves. An argument of artificers.

D&D General Updating non-human pantheons for the new world orc-der (+)

I really liked the “Races Of…” series from late 3.5 for a lot of reasons, but thematically interesting species deities is one of them. The halflings got a goddess of stealth, trickery and roguishness; the gnome got an evil god of cruel tricks, etc. I wasn’t a huge fan of their elf re-write but...

D&D General D&D is ruined forever! (humor)

That's just another example of "letting women be involved"

D&D General Dinosaurs in your campaigns

I figure fae are just adapted to the high background magic of the Feywild, much like how Earth had high oxygen levels in the late carboniferous period. Soo they take advantage of that, but might actually be magic-starved in other places.

D&D (2024) Which Creature Type Would You Most Like a Fizban's/Bigby's Style Book About?

Unfortunately the 5e approach seems to not allow new player options that aren’t balanced with PHB options, otherwise Bigby’s would have had options for playing as giants.

D&D (2024) Which Creature Type Would You Most Like a Fizban's/Bigby's Style Book About?

I voted for elementals but I really meant genies; there’s enough lore and society there to make for an interesting campaign. Edit to add: I think a genie book is a great reason to dive into non-European influences, especially places like Persia and central Asia that don’t get nearly enough...

    D&D (2024) Group Checks?

Again: leave your plate at home is a -8 to AC, ie going from an 18 to a ten, which at low levels means enemies will hit you twice as often. It’s not annoying; it’s crippling as being on the frontline is now just asking to get dropped. And even if you do, you now have to make DC 15 stealth...

    D&D (2024) Group Checks?

Scouting is one thing, but evenin light armor (assuming you don’t track encumbrance because carrying an extra set of armor adds up) you still need to beat a DC 15 with a +0 mod, probably more than once, or get into a fight at 6 less AC (which will likely nearly double the odds of getting hit) -...

    D&D (2024) Group Checks?

Thus reinstating the “never try stealth if anyone uses heavy armor” rule. Remember, if you play with a paladin, stealth is not an option.

    D&D (2024) Least stereotypical species/ class combos?

Any artificer who isn’t a gnome. I suppose Dragonborn wizard is still a valid answer, though I played one under the pre-Tasha’s rules.

    D&D (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

Argument with the god of prices.

    D&D (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

Yes, that would definitely reduce the number of arguments about how much it cost to cast revivify, because no one would argue what a dtagonshard is worth.

D&D 5E [House Rule] Dropping proficiency bonus

For this goal, I think a full-on dice pool system might be better, but that’s a lot more work to convert.

D&D 5E [House Rule] Dropping proficiency bonus

Out of curiosity: have you considered adding an Ability Score die and keeping flat mods for special cases? More dice = more clacky noise = more fun, after all.
