How about a satyr who has enchanted a wood elf to be his queen. He's got some pixie friends that help him out as well. The wood elf would attack as well, causing a situation where the characters would have to avoid damaging her but take on the tricksy fey until their music was forever silenced...

The pre-gens were in the QuickStart book, and I believe all three maps were tactical maps. There is a map of the entire region in which the H, P, and E series of adventures will take place found in the DMG, with locations like the Keep on the Shadowfell called out.

re: a brand new setting Bill Slaviscek did say there would be a brand new setting, but he did not say when it was scheduled to come out. re: Draconomicon The first Draconomicon, due out in November, will be all about Chromatic dragons. There will be no metallics in there, as reported on my blog...

Thanks for helping clarify that. It was the impression I got, and it doesn't make business sense to release physical cards, but as with most of my updates I was scribbling furiously and dead tired to boot. :)

I believe they're going to be releasing converted cards online for the older sets, not new physical cards for sale.

This is a focus of their 4e marketing plan, which includes the RPG, minis, and OP...all of them will tie together more closely than ever before. Although, that's not to say every release will tie with every other thing, just that there will be quite a bit of synergy.

I think given their commitment to making it all immediately official as well as putting it in the rules database in real time suggests that they'll retain full control over the articles. I'm sure it's subject to change. :)

There will be a PHB, DMG, and MM out every year, and they'll be core, not setting specific. I'm pretty sure monsters for settings will be in either the Campaign Guide or DM's Guide for each setting, as they mentioned "maulagrym to Manshoon" on the slide for the FRCG.
