    Apprentice-Level clerics and Bonus Spells

I am currently playing an apprentice level cleric bard. I have a wisdom of 15, meaning I get 1 1st level and 1 2nd level bonus spell. My question is, it clearly states that apprentice level clerics get 1 1st level spell, but it MUST be a domain spell. My question is, what do I do about this...

What's the easiest way to immortality?

Well, there are different forms of immortality... You've got those never-aging types, but still as vulnerable to a blade as any other... And then you have you're never-dying types who just get older and crustier (and madder) as time goes on... And then there are the "death becomes you"...

Homebrew world's cosmology - short version

I think the cosmology works just fine. Tropalore makes a fine "good aligned wargod"; though I don't see a war god being anything other than neutral, or perhaps evil. also the multiple racial diety pantheons get a little insane after a while... I can see the different races calling the same god...

    Fly vs Polymorph Self

Here's my two pence... Fly is superior in many ways because it can be targeted on yourself or an ally, and it allows you to keep your original shape, for spellcasting and the like. It would really be up to the dm if you could change yourself into a Succubus... if the character had never seen...

Advice for 1st time DM... post your dming anecdotes

Thanks for the link. I'm looking through Dungeoncraft as well. The players are all more experienced than I am, though they seem to think I'll do well.

Advice for 1st time DM... post your dming anecdotes

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. I've had some more grandiose campaign ideas, but perhaps it would be better to start off with an adventure or two to get things rolling, and see where I can take it from there. =] Ill be sure to look into some of those downloads too. Thanks!

    Evil with morals?

Evil people can have things that they will not do, yes. Just because on one singular point they shift toward another alignment does not mean their whole alignment goes with it. But Lawful Evil, especially, restricts their own behavior like that. If you look at the description in the PHB they...

Anyone with some inspiration for a new campaign?

Strange idea I had a while back... never put it to use, so I don't know about it's viability. It would be an essentially ravenloftian setting, but the entire campaign would take place inside a haunted house. The house is constantly shifting, so that on any single day, the house would look...

    Master of Orion Conversion

hmm, charisma is a funny thing that way. I would suggest a bigger bump in those charisma based deception skills, so at the end they come out higher than someone of another race. Bluff and Disguise would be +4 to make up for their low charisma, considering these skills are what they are...

Why does't magic missile have a save?

my two coppers I've played mages in 2e and 3e, and balance wise MM is not such a big deal. In 2nd edition, the wiz was a one trick pony at 1st level. "shoom!" "pop!"...... "oooh, aaah"...."zzzz" The wizard's function is often the "save everyone's behind" person in the party. He has a wide...

    Druids Turning Animals

hmmm... That ability would make the animal empathy skill totally redundant. I suggest, rather than turning animals, that a druid would turn abberations instead. They are perversions of nature, just like undead are perversions of life...

Advice for 1st time DM... post your dming anecdotes

May be DM'ing for the fist time i a few months. Haven't done much to prepare for it other than come up with several campaign ideas that I cannot decide between. =] Where do you start? What do you do to prepare? what sort of campaign should a beginning dm run. Thanks.

What is your least favorite/most hated PC race?

Ok, somebody has to defend the gnomes. I will admit, gnomes, just like elves, dwarves, halflings, half elves, and half orcs are at the mercy of their role players. Their personalities are as deep or as shallow as the player makes them. If you play a gnome and all he does is play tricks on the...
