    Must a Coup-de-Grace deal damage?

on post 17 I copied and pasted CdG entry from the SRD provided by WotC. it says (DC 10 + damage dealt) edit: querry: What are you trying to say? Which "term" are you speaking of directly? You have a quote from PHB 307 followed by a definition of "Damage". . . Are you talking about the . ...

    Characters- Ongoing Druid Debate

. . . eh, sorry, I’m used to people arguing with me. I was just validating Mirivor's question because a wizard is still limited by the spell's cap. I also didn't catch the "usually" part of your statement - which slightly altered the context to a more agreeable one. ohh well.- no worries.

    Must a Coup-de-Grace deal damage?

Ahh, but there was damage delt(not taken), and the glossary does define each term seperately(take damage/deal damage). That is the point that I am arguing. because there of that differntation is why a save would still be required. like i said its kind of dumb when you think about it, but this...

Something that hit me about Summon Nature's Ally

Definately not with Banishment as it is classified as a naural creature, not extraplaner, however it depends on what plane you are on. i.e. you are an extraplaner creature to Limbo.-i think. unless they mean subtypes. in which case you are right. I wish "natural creature" was defined. then...

    Characters- Ongoing Druid Debate

It was still a vallid question, as in polymorph the quote is: "The assumed form can’t have more Hit Dice than your caster level (or the subject’s HD, whichever is lower), to a maximum of 15 HD at 15th level." But, again the exclusion in the polymorph entry overides the bold.

Aiming Fireballs soi they don't hit the party?

I stand corrected. I was thinking of energy ball. my bad.(<I hate that phrase, but seemed appropriate)

    Must a Coup-de-Grace deal damage?

Dr I do see where you are comming from, however I feel CdG is a Special Case. Here is why: Coup de Grace: As a full-round action, you can use a melee weapon to deliver a coup de grace to a helpless opponent. You can also use a bow or crossbow, provided you are adjacent to the target. You...

    Characters- Ongoing Druid Debate

if that were the case they would have just left out that clause all togeather and lett it stand. Supernatural and spell like abilities, as a default have a caster level equal to your level in the class that grants the ability.-- I believe. . . i don't have my books here and didn't find in the...

Does the Fireball spell expand in a narrow corridor?

Feat If you wanted to Bounce, ect., I considered writing a House Feat that would be something like this: Reflect Spell[Metamagic] Prerequisites: Any Metamagic Feat Area of effect spells with the "burst" or "line" descriptors can be doubled back off of vertical surfaces, not exceeding their own...

Aiming Fireballs soi they don't hit the party?

Fireball is a burst, not a spread. -Although it doesn't make a REAL difference in the argument, this is what the srd says on burst. "Burst, Emanation, or Spread: Most spells that affect an area function as a burst, an emanation, or a spread. In each case, you select the spell’s point of...

    Characters- Ongoing Druid Debate

So what is the best thing about Druids? Comments? Since the original title is "The Ongoing Druid Debate" this should be ongoing. . .right? Druids realy are great. So based on power of class (the base classes) i could ask if everyone would agree that, from a power standpoint, three most...

    Is this character too pwerful?

yea, that's true. when your dm hands out party gifts, you don't look down his gullet, but he did take Weapon Focus(Bastard). that was a little silly(in my opinion). of course i can say the same for many of the feats, but it's not me and if your going for a themed character it p/b fits. for...

Does concealment allow a rogue to make a sneak attack?

I always thought it was kind of OFF how rouges can't sneak attack people in dark allys. (can't sneak attack someone with concealment granted by darkness) < even though they are denied dex if they are unaware of your presence.

Cold resistence = Endure elements (cold)?

in one of my more recent rpgs there was a warlock that was resitant to cold and he would periodically sleep in the snow. after all the hp you gain from sleeping would outway the hp loss that you get. but yes, i wouls agree you are still subject to cold effects, but simply take reduced damage...

Animals? not many. but like the Giant Eagle and the Giant Owl are Magical Beasts. I blame tolkein. the Dire Eagle from Races of Stone are kewl. I would like to shift to a Roc sometime, but that isn't going to happen. ohh well.

    Characters- Ongoing Druid Debate

Well I suppose the line "You are effectively disguised as an average member of the new form’s race. If you use this spell to create a disguise, you get a +10 bonus on your Disguise check." is the best argument I have heard thus far, however it could also be argued that it says your are...

    Is this character too pwerful?

Although D&D is much about stats and class, the truth is that what matters more is wealth. Compare a 15th level fighter to a 9th level fighter. In 1 on 1 combat a 15th level should always defeat a 9th level- agreed? well, if you give the 9th level his average gold (pg 135 dmg-i think) and give...

    Is this character too pwerful?

yes, but it always sucks when compared to a greatsword/greataxe.(used two handed, of course.)
