    Making your own power cards

Found this on google (make your own cards util) http://www.dnditalia.it/pcg Seems to be a cool site if you speak Italian, but english is good enough for the util!

    Character Sheet Archive

The fillable sheet is great, thanks! One suggestion would be for skills. Just make the Trained option a checkbox with a value of 5. Just a thought...

    4th Edition Bard

Like most, just starting to read through... I did a quick skim, then started reading each power and I'm very impressed. The omission of bards in 4e was a crying shame, so I'm pleased to say I will be counting this as CORE, barring any wonky powers that turn up. Fantastic work!

Can D&D be played without all the mini rules?

I have to agree with those who've said it's more mini dependant that 3e was. So many powers move people around, and those positions trigger actions, etc... I wouldn't -want- to play 4e without minis because of all those niggly things personally. Keeping track of that without a map would cause...

Rolling to Hit: A Sacred Cow that should have been slain?

2x Might as well be reading a book.

    Why Knock Someone Prone Anymore?

Standing up doesn't provoke an OA, as not all move actions do. If you move out of your square doing anything other than a shift, THEN you suffer the OA.

    Caltrops?

Agreed. It seems a touch simple, but so is 4e. [edit] I was thinking Slowed, not Difficult Terrain, like you'd move in but then have only one square of movement left. That doesn't make much sense now that I think about it. Too busy to think right now. :)

    D&D 4E Another Review of 4e

One of the things that's getting my goat is how they've split classes into various paths with path specific powers (a Warlock's Eldritch Pact for example). The idea is fine, but splitting the powers up into paths limits variation to the extreme. Sure it's easier to balance, but what about...

    Gnomes and Half-Orc Run Amok

Not sure about half-orcs, but gnomes will be a playable race and listed in the PHB2. There was an interview where it was covered (recent gamer zero podcast)... I'd have to watch it again for the half-orc bit.

Monster Manual: I miss the fluff.

I'd like 2e fluff with 4e statblocks please. Thank you.

    piracy is a problem

I dunno about where everyone else is, but local libraries should have copies to check out and peruse for free as well. If they find them to their liking, they may in turn purchase them, but aren't required to. *preordered, but will probably also aquire pdf's [edit] - It might take a bit...

    We're back to AD&D1

Haven't seen the books yet (on order though), and I'm curious. What are the first two sentances in the Rogue entry? I ask anyone who has access to the books. Thanks in advance!

    We're back to AD&D1

You missed the point right there. The rogue class, as all imformation I've found attests, is presented exclusively by their combat role. Look at Wizards Presents Races and Classes (if you have it) and it's entirely about combat role. I don't mind that there is a combat role. What I mind is...

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

Opponents don't go negative. At 0 they just die (and in this case, get the ability). So Minnie, the Minotaur Prostitute gets offended that Jozan isn't interested and they get in a fight. She has 5 HP and he does 16, she would still be at zero (dead), not -11. Am I right on this one? I'm...

    We're back to AD&D1

Let's see if this helps Joe, but it probably won't. I keep trying to tackle a similar issue, and it gets pulled into the roll vs roleplaying bit. What I can't stand is that everything we've seen (and continues to be shown true by folks who've seen the books) is 4e is pretty much all about...

    Rituals

Very good point, and I agree there have been issues. I do think that there was some balance though, since you had your limited spell slots a day. You couldn't just run around detecting at will (though you could for the duration). I just think 10 minutes might be too much, but given your...

    Rituals

PLUS it's a ritual called Detect Secret Doors that doesn't really do that. It gives you a bonus to Perception which happens to only be good for looking for doors in this case. Why not just have a ritual for Enhance Perception? Also, instantaneous? Give me a break! I would hazard a guess...

    Detect Magic is Dead

What the heck was I reading? I'm I thinking 3e or what? Cripes... Last year I got mixed up and actually tried to cast 2e Cantrip in a 3.5 game. *8( I haven't played 2e for YEARS!!! *looks around for empty booze bottles to blame* ;)
