Help wanted: Spellcaster Tactics (my players -- out!)

Two things come up immeditely here for spell listings: He doesn't have too many disable spells (hold person, etc) and not to many area distrubtion spells (like web, wall of fire) to break up the party. Does he know they are coming? If so... Ditch animate dead and legend lore as prepared...

    What would a paladin do

The paladin needs to clear his name. Two reasons: 1.) Implied in the paladin's commitment to Law is one to truth and justice. If the law of the land is neither truthful nor just, then the paladin is not obliged to obey it. Given that the paladin knows of his innocence, he should not be...

    Gaming "snacks" -- ideas?

You can't go wrong with cheese and crackers. Protein and carbs, that's what you need. Throw some salami in on the plate to spice things up a little. Look for some good water crackers. Baked brie is particularly good. Other alternatives include pate, cavier, oysters and clams, crab ragoons...

Central Mass. Gameday, Saturday, October 22nd, Success

Dude, that's my issue. Why do we get the karma overflow here? What Mercurial god did we offend that our conveyance betrays us so in our hour of need? Why, cruel Fate? WHY?

    ...oh no you didn't...

What other unusual behavior... Well, in the same D&D campaign we had a goat-blood-sucking female dwarf that would not bathe, a badger sorcerer, a halfing that would polymorph into a giant flying shark and who was sexually attractive to gargoyles, an orc *loving* ranger, a female cleric who was...

As it happens, I'm right in Worcester, but between my employment tomorrow and arranging for my vehicle, I fear I may not have enough energy to game.

    ...oh no you didn't...

One of the longest running campaigns I have been involved in featured a ranged weapon expert ranger and a fighter. While the fighter charged up into melee, the ranger would typically hold back and launch a few arrows into the fray. Well eventually, a few arrows would hit the fighter resulting...

Good evening- Assuming post #7 is still accurate, I would be interested in participating in the 2nd session, in the Library, with the candlestick. However, with well over 200 posts, I must admitt I do not have the tolerence to burn through each one, not at 11:30 while listening to WCUW. Uhm...

    Order of the Stick #233

Five ranks in Knowledge:Seinfeld finally pays off! Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Tell me that D&D 3.0/3.5 isn't really like this

Obviously the quote that started this thread is a GM issue. The correct course of action (well, one of them) would be to have the DM give his book to the bored guy who can look up the damn rule and then run the game for the rest of the party. Duh.

D&D 4E Would you have alignment in 4e?

Keep alignment. Why? 1.) It is a useful role playing tool. Bear in mind that D&D is the entry level RPG. Lots of people come straight in off the straight into a D&D game w/ no other RPG experience. Alignment in the D&D vein offers an easy to understand code of conduct for various...

    Using an assassins death-attack fairly

Or, you can make the rogues and barabarians of the group the assasin's contract. They get uncanny dodge and are thusly more or less immune to the death attack. The assisan could always feel or attempt a death attack against another party member later, but have the 1st one go against a...

Why is it wrong to make alignment matter?

I have a few issues w/ providing bonuses exclusively for alignments. The first is that a movement bonus is greatly overpowered compared w/ the other items. This is easily resolved by switching up the bonuses, as another party had already noted. Another is that, as already pointed out...

Eberron adventures - do they feature psionics?

Oops... Sorry guys, rough day at work and it kinda spilled over into the forums. Ya'll have your own fun, even if it isn't my kind.

Eberron adventures - do they feature psionics?

Who cares about Psionics? Who cares? Psionics are a needless psudeo-magic add on to D&D / d20. It's ammounts to magic for accountants w/ all its powerpoints and what not. Some ideas are kind of cool, like the psi-blade, but mostly dull, dull, dull.

Suggestion on a mount for a Dwarf Paladin?

I'm w/ Wormwood. An empathic mule is the only logical choice for a Dwavish paladin. And it MUST be named "Francis."
