D&D 5E there aren't enough slow Dwarves with Axes! ;)

I ran into similar problems in both 3/3.5 and 4. The PCs were quite capable of either annihilating anything at range (mostly in my 3/3.5 days) or threw out so many lockdown/control effects(4E) that any melee monster often wouldn't get to do anything. My solution in 4e was to give any monster...

Fantasy Author & Game Designer Joe Dever Passes Away

That's very sad news, indeed. I always liked his articles in White Dwarf, and really, really liked the Lone Wolf books. I prefered them to the Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks by a huge margin. They had better stories and mechanics, and I loved how things from one book, might be useful several books...

    D&D 5E 2016 5th edition D&D Dungeon Master Survey

Hi MIke Really like your Website - been using since 4E days. The prep questions are a tricky one to answer - I spend a reasonable amount of time either just pondering my game or world, but not much time doing actual writing stuff down prep. Some sessions will have a lot done, others I'll have...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Divine Domains

They all look good. Some crossover with other Domains with Protection and Grave, but both are nice and flavorful. Great to see a non-evil Death type Domain. Really like the Forge Domain. Could see myself playing a Forge Cleric. Not so sure about it having Shield on its spell list, it gives it...

    Pokemon Kanto Pokedex

Absolutely Brilliant! I'll have to unleash these on my players - most of who are not Pokemon fans. :) I doubt they'll even realise what they are if I describe them correctly.

D&D 5E Guns in your world, and in mine!

I use guns as well - there's some great ideas in this thread to steal. :) I've generally been using the DMG rules, but upping the damage dice size by one, but making reloading a full round action - it takes both your action and move to reload. Any player with a gun tends to fire it at the start...

D&D 5E Little rules changes that still trip you up

I'm quite bad at forgetting Reactions for any monster. What surprised me about the Monster/NPC Parry, is how different it is to the Fighter's one. I think I'd prefer the Fighter's one to the Monster one as well. It'd come into effect more often as I have had the same problem as Remathilis. One...
