So here is how I run it in my campaign world. The players are "Lord Protectors" of a new frontier village. The island Arosh that they are on was recently reclaimed from demon-spawn and is now being resettled. The lord protectors are working-class nobility that gain regional free reign in...

Does 'moved' mean this post was moved to a new forum? If so which one? Sorry, but I'm a newb... Another cool idea on this from montecook's forum is a "serrated waveblade" that is like a kris sword. I would love to see a kris blade usable as either a shortsword 1d6 19-20 x2 OR an exotic...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

    Just for fun, a pure 10th level rogue with +3 StrMod, +7/+2 BAB, Ambidexterity, Two Weapon Fighting, Weapon Focus Shortsword. Case 1: Two +1 elemental short swords 23.5, 21.8, 20.2, 18.5, 16.9, 15.2, 13.6, 11.9, 10.3, 8.6, 7 Case 2: Two +1 elemental short swords with +5d6 sneak attack 61.1...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

Heh, forgot the conclusion. Given the above data, I believe that a new "Two Weapon Focus" feat which gives a +2 to hit when using two weapon fighting and is only available at ranger lvl4+ gives a great incentive to hit 4th level in ranger and balances out TWF to make it desirable and...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

Tarchon, we each have a bug. =] Thanks for catching this one! My bug: I wasn't accounting for the additional + to hit after +2 (was staying as +2 to hit, +n damage). Your bug is that it isn't 8.5 expected damage from the left hand, it's 6.5 (3.5+1+2) - off hand weapons get .5 * strMod round...

    Need a description for a small 1d6 18-20 x2 weapon.

squire james - not completely certain of the halfling rapier, it's from the recent swashbuckler's dragon mag. I'm fairly certain it's not exotic - just a small version of the rapier after all... I really think that there should be a full 'small' collection of weapons available to make...

    Need a description for a small 1d6 18-20 x2 weapon.

Arwink, the bladed gauntlet was errata'd to 1d6 19-20 x2. Basically it's a shortsword that's always ready and can't be disarmed

    Need a description for a small 1d6 18-20 x2 weapon.

There is currently a 'hole' in the weapon tables for a small exotic weapon that does 1d6 18-20 x2. I would love to get some descriptive ideas. To clarify the "hole": Medium has: longsword (1d8 19-20 x2) --> mercurial longsword (1d8 20 x4) rapier (1d6 18-20 x2) --> elven thinblade (1d8 18-20...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

And yes, the RP concept of a greatsword-wielding ranger/rogue sneaking up and back-slashing a foe is a wee bit silly. =] This is purely a math argument...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

Can't... do... math... that would be 16,300 gp but let's just say they threw in the extra 2000gp onto their weapons. =]

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

Interesting thoughts Tarchon! I agree with your AC range thinking - most creatures in the MM are AC17-AC23 regardless of level. Here's the 1 v 2 case with your 10th level rogue/ranger listed below (I don't know how this will turn out yet). =] From pg 145 of the DMG, 10th level characters...

Adapting Asheron's Call "vitae" death mechanic. (or, how to be a deadly DM and still

The players are watched over by a benevolent God. Any time they die, at dawn the next morning their corpse vanishes and they appear naked out of the fog. (The rest of the party must recover their goods.) The player is at -4 on all skill rolls, attacks, and saves. Monsters are at +4 on...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

Agnostic - Power attack in general, is only useful for the lowest AC creatures. A general rule of thumb is to use power attack until you'll only miss your first shot on a 1. If the character were a very smart fighter (16+), I'd certainly allow them to have a power attack quick reference table...

Want to know the exact expected damage for your fighter? (DND 3e)

Yowch! Zappo - you're crazy! I don't have seperate feats for each weapon in my program, nor do I have monkey grip - mostly just a UI space issue. I do have flaming burst and weapon finesse however. Also haven't done thrown weapons. Hmmm... perhaps it's time to add some features. =]
