Pathfinder 1E I've been thinking about a freeze on leveling.

I'm not sure if it completely fits the bill, but I can think of two other possibilities here. The first is using the slow advancement track so the characters are still gaining XP. You can then make sure the encoutners and story awards are lower level to further keep them at 8th level for a...

So who is running a 40 years anniversary game?

Was really hoping to run a game session this weekend to celebrate the anniversary, but unfortunately pretty much everyone cancelled out over time so that no session could be held.

Pathfinder 1E Should I kill off players who don't show?

Lots of great advice in the thread. I'm happily scribbling down notes and ideas for my own game. I'm rather curious, though, to hear what the OP ultimately decides and hope we get to hear how things resolve.

Not sure if they are still looking for folks, but you might try this one out if it's not too far of a trip for you: Click here.

    Batman vs. Punisher

Are you kidding me? I'd love to see Batman take on Mario! Or did you mean Luigi? In which case, yes, you're right, that wouldn't be a fair fight.

    The perfect NPC summary

One idea that I have only done on a limited basis but that really intrigues me enough to keep trying it is to pick characters from movies or TV shows that have mannerisms or speech patterns that would help give me a mental image of how I see a particular NPC behaving in front of the NPCs. I've...

Pathfinder 1E Adventures in the Pathfinder Beginner's Box (Contains Spoilers)

I know it's a bit after the fact and all, but you might also point out to Amiri that if she's interested in continuing with the Beginner Box rules, there is a Barbarian in the Player's Pack on the Paizo website. You can find it here.

New Boston Gameday: October 19, 2013! PLAYER REGISTRATION OPEN

Like I said, we'd love to just come and hang out. Don't worry about un-canceling anything. After being full-bore into planning and execution the past few weeks, it'll be nice to just sit back and relax a bit. We'll see everyone tomorrow.

New Boston Gameday: October 19, 2013! PLAYER REGISTRATION OPEN

Hey folks. Sorry Dantilla and I have not yet responded. We've been quite busy the last few days. Something about getting married (to each other even!) or something like that. We're busy in the morning but would love to attend in the afternoon. I am sorry to see the Atomic Robo game cancelled...

Why don't you get a +1 ability score per level?

keterys is spot on from my reading of the book as well. It aligns very nicely with the tiers of play already created. I find it reminiscint of the adds made to characters in D&D4e when moving to Paragon or Epic tiers.

The Prettiest Book? [AKA Mr/Miss Prettiest RPG 2013]

It's not a full color book the way the others on your list are, but the FATE book was clean, easy to read, and had (to me, that is) very inspiring pictures for conveying the feel of the rules.

The Prettiest Book? [AKA Mr/Miss Prettiest RPG 2013]

Shouldn't the new FATE hardcover be on the poll as well?

    [August] What are you reading?

I'm finally getting back into reading for pleasure. I didn't realize how much I had missed it. I'm currently reading my way through Humble Bundle 2 having just finished "Just a Geek" by Wil Wheaton and have moved on to "Little Brother" by Cory Doctorow. Wheaton's book was a fun read and I...

free and/or easy video conferencing software?

Google Hangouts is what the Ruby meeting group I participate in (remotely) uses to handle their presentations. They have quite a few (around 100) attending in person with an unknown number watching remotely. There are usually only 4 in the Hangouts, but then the live feed is streamed via...

    A world of darkness retroclone?

I thought the nWoD book included much of the ruleset without a lot of the fluff so that the setting could be a bit more separated from the rules. Was that not the case?

What adventures are NOT set in a published D&D setting?

Night Below is not set in any official setting. It includes skimpy notes on using it in different settings (mostly when referencing patron deities of bad guys and high level characters the PCs might contact for help).

Three free adventures: The Staff of Suha Cycle

I followed your link to the details about the three adventures. I normally use NoScript and AdBlock with Firefox so when I opened your link, I saw at the top of the page quite a big blurb on Cialis and the like. It's contained in a class called HiddenDiv at the top just below the Body tag in the...
