Here's a list of published settings. Which are good for the PoL style?

Scarred Lands is a very awesome setting. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 4e conversion of it. :D Of course, I also feel that the old Chainmail setting based in western Oerik would be an interesting setting too... after the wars between all the rival factions had been played out, and...

    Ending the Campaign

Once we finish the current dungeon, they'll all be about 10th level. I was figuring that by the time the transition to 4e story-arc is finished, they'll be in the low-epic range, and we'll wrap it up.

Great suggestions everyone! You've given me a lot of interesting ideas to work with. Keep them coming!

    Ending the Campaign

Yeah, the final chunk will kick off in about a month, as soon as university lets out. :) And yeah, catharsis of beating the living hell out of this villain will probably have to happen. He's always been two steps ahead of the PCs since I put together the first parts of this setting in 1998...

Manual of the Planes, Dec '08

Glad to hear it :) Also, I am really stoked for the Manual of the Planes. I love planar adventures and I think that the new planar layout will make for seriously awesome adventures.

I agree. I think the OP was just trying to help us all out, but for some reason "Goatse" got into the equation. I'm very confused.

    Mindflayer's Interview at WotC

Heh... awesome. I thought that was quite funny.

Anyone have a concept for a Divine striker or controller?

Divine Striker: Holy Slayer (prestige class from Dragon magazine. Could be reconcepted into a base class) or Crusader... makes me think for Kratos from God of War. Divine Controller: With a little rearrangement and reconception, I'm sure Favored Soul could fit the bill. Perhaps somewhat Moses...

    Ending the Campaign

True enough... and I do like the "take a run at godhood" idea. The villain is the Jon Irenicus/Manshoon/Doctor Doom/Raistlin/Vecna/Azalin type. Obsessed with power, trying for more, arrogant to the hilt, and armed with enough magical prowess to back it all up.

    Ending the Campaign

Well, Ganelmerlin (cool merger name, by the way) is practically immortal at this point. When he was still a PC (yeah, that was a LONG time ago), he found a magical item which rendered him ageless (at about age 50), and due to his goodly nature and efforts to keep peace and compassion in the...

    Ending the Campaign

Hello all, So, here's my situation: I'm looking to finish out my campaign so I can start fresh when 4e comes out. I am looking to work out an adventure somewhat like "Die, Vecna, Die!" or "The Apocalypse Stone"... stuff that will allow me to transition between editions. I want the campaign to go...

Joe Commoner, and his BIG AXE!!!

The title of this thread made me think of Elmo from the old village of Hommlet. Also, I've been working on a whole storyline for my homebrew based around the farmer mini, hoe, pig, and cleaver all included. In fact, he's one of those commmon guys who's been touched by destiny, and will likely...

Is this what you went through with 3rd Edition?

In response to the OP: Yes. The same arguments (or at least, very similar ones) were made. The one I remember most was "4th edition in 3 years!" (that was the average estimated years. Some said one, some said as high as five) Yeah, there will always be doomsayers, naysayers, and those folks...

    Whither OotS?

Of course, once the bard IS finally released, have him suddenly switch back. Elan: "What? No, I'm a bard. What are you talking about?" Other Character: "Wait a minute..." Let the chaos begin

Developing a "points of light" campaign setting

Heh... working on it. Even if it never gets printed, it will still fill-out my fiction writing nicely (Have written a couple of short stories for the setting, currently working on a novel). So far, there's a lot of stuff that's all in notebooks, jot-notes, wordpad files, MS office files, and...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

Hmmm... seems to be a lot of power-gamey powers, and a lot of wierd, almost inexplicable abilities for classes in this primer. I'm a huge fan of the Pathfinder storylines (they're always top-notch)... these rules, however... naw...

Developing a "points of light" campaign setting

I can't really guarantee that my setting is "points of light" friendly, but it is a world of high fantasy, unexplored lands, mysterious places, ancient magic, shattered empires, and powerful villains. The major countries in the setting are recovering from a series of brutal wars, and darkness...
