Between the different resources and the different class names ... Draw Steel is giving me tryhard vibes. We're changing the names to make them different. I dunno, MTG designers always talk about resonance, using names that work with what you're trying to do, and this feels purposefully against that.

Everyone is running away from the D20, huh? I am curious how much crunchier Draw Steel is. Because 5e is close to the top for me these days, Pathfinder 2 was too much. So Draw Steel falls on the wrong side for me, but it might still be interesting to me.

Yes and no ... I think? Still haven't played yet, so this is theory-crafting, but Solos look Fear hungry, as they can spotlight multiple times per GM turn, but that does mean if you have the Fear to spend you don't have as much of a Action Economy issue.

There are. The Fallen Warlord and Volcanic Dragon in Tier 4 are phased creatures. The Volcanic Dragon has three phases, it starts as Obsidian Predator, then Molten Scourge and finally Ashen Tyrant. Whether these can actually hang as legit Solo encounters is another question.

It also allows for some fun dice pools for rolling damage because it does get capped on both ends. Rolling d20s for damage, like in the Codex Fireball spell is just going to be fun.

The other thing to consider is how easily can steps be short cutted? For example, a big roll in Daggerheart or 5e means I can often skip the math. A 10 and 11 on your duality dice to attack? Yeah that'll hit. 14 on a D20 when I know the AC is 15? Don't bother looking up that attack modifier that...

Depends. If you are using already existing domains, it's pretty quick. Already a bunch of homebrew classes filling the grid. Longer if you are creating additional domains.
