D&D 5E (2024) What would be the path between Wildshape Templates and Use an Beast statblock?

What I'd guess is what people here are more or less musing on ... a Druid can prepare a limited number of forms (like the last playtest), some of which can be templates. So a Druid could prepare Predator of the Land (generic attack template) and two CR 1/4 beasts.

D&D 5E (2024) What would you like in the 2024 DMG Instead of the Bastion System?

This would be easier if I had an idea what else is in the DMG and how the page count is managed. Conceptually, adding a way to manage and build a place for PCs to have as a home base is fine. So a refined version of a bastion system is perfectly acceptable, depending on what else is in the book...

    Ahsoka - SPOILERS

If he had had any, he might have lost them ... note that the Eye of Sion had to come down to him, not the Star Destroyer go up to it.

    Ahsoka - SPOILERS

Overall, this felt a little empty and underbaked. Like ... had to wait until the last episode to finally clear up why Ahsoka stopped training Sabine? So little about how Ezra or Thrawn spent their exile? I just feel like this show is missing some better character beats and managed to be both...

    Grade the Fate/Fate Core System

I do think that FATE is really good at running any established franchise setting, like Star Trek, because it works well within a shared understanding of the narrative and genre conventions. I've considered FATE instead of trying to learn whatever "official" system exists for said setting.

    Grade the Modiphius 2d20 System

I wasn't aware this was a whole group of systems, only knew about Star Trek Adventures. I was researching the system, I looked briefly into it as we were discussing a new campaign, but haven't played it. (Ended up starting up a Star Wars campaign using FATE)

Grade the Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) System

This is the big one for me. I think as long as it runs right out of the box/book, everything is fine. But I cannot grok how to alter or brew for it at all, if something feels off or isn't quite working, I have no idea how to fix it. I also find that the best thing as a player to do is to pick a...

    Grade the Fate/Fate Core System

I do love FATE, and I'm now gearing up to run a FATE campaign, but it does drive me mildly bananas that the answer to "how do I do this in FATE?", the answer is almost always "it depends, here's 5 possible solutions". The MTG player in me demands a "correct" answer, and FATE does not provide.

    Ahsoka - SPOILERS

Wookiepedia says 10. Ahsoka starts 9 ABY (9 years after the Battle of Yavin), and the finale of Rebels was 1 BBY.

I'm ready for a new Star Wars RPG

Well, I might be spinning up a Star Wars campaign using Fate Condensed rules.

    D&D 5E (2024) Sorcerer (Playtest 7)

The other way to do this is to improve the Sorcerer spell list ... give them unique spells that are competitive with some of the better spells. Sorcererous Burst and Arcane Eruption are solid additions, because they can do almost any damage type and scale well. I think Sorcerous Vitality should...

I'm ready for a new Star Wars RPG

Heck, my DnD campaigns skew more Star Wars-y, I've always said that my DnD taverns have a Mos Eisley cantina vibe. I like having Plasmoids and Thri-kreen and more exotic PCs as adventurers.

    D&D 5E (2024) Sorcerer (Playtest 7)

I just think throwing bonus spells at every subclass is a bit of a blunt instrument, ideally different subclasses should offer up more variety. I also like the idea of Sorcerer as spell specialist, ie, fewer known spells but can do more with them. With Metamagic and now Innate Sorcery, the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Sorcerer (Playtest 7)

I wouldn't, I'd sooner give them more class features, like a Breath Weapon while Innate Sorcery is active, but ... For Draconic Sorcerers, given the paucity of certain elements, and low level elemental spells like Burning Hands don't scale well anyway, I'd sooner give a couple of spells that...

D&D General Forgotten Realms fans, what do you like most about the setting?

I do not consider myself an FR fan, but I do appreciate the familiarity and how well it has been brought to life in recent tie-in media. The movie and BG3 do more to get me into the realms.

    Grade the GURPS System

Definitely a book that was interesting to flip through and realize I had long passed the limit of crunch I cared for in an RPG system.

    D&D 5E (2024) Playtest 7 survey is now live.

I was generally positive. The feedback I want to give is past and out of scope, mainly that I'd rather see less concern for backwards compatibility and be more aggressive making changes. Within what these UAs seem to be moving for, the changes in UA 7 are pretty good.

Consider the Cannoli: Subjective Preferences and Conversations about Geek Media

For me, Caesar salad was conquered when I realized, like Thanos, "Fine. I'll do it myself". I've got a solid, fairly simple recipe for caesar salad dressing that I much prefer to others I've had. It's also the only way I like anchovies, which I find vile, but making the dressing without anchovy...

    Ahsoka - SPOILERS

Then yes, I'd call it a meaningless term. Most of the protagonist Jedi don't fufill the full requirements of a Jedi, calling them Grey is not useful. Admittedly, I think the core problem is that we have Jedi = Light Side, Sith = Dark Side, which is an oversimplification. I don't like calling...

    Ahsoka - SPOILERS

This is a meaningless definition. Luke is a Grey Jedi, because he acts against the wishes of the last member of the Jedi Council.
