You lose bonus unarmed strike, martial arts die, dextrous attack, acrobatic movement, and unarmored movement. You can still use Ki abilities though... so you'd be giving up a lot but not everything. I wouldn't do it. Sounds like something a custom subclass could be focused around, though.

The focus also shifted off of magic items as being the focus for your character- a magic item that has a bunch of cool abilities is now almost lost amidst the cool abilities the character gets from their multitude of features. But 2e had a good number of cool abilities for a character as well...

The adventures themselves are great- very tight, easily useable for any drop-in. I use DCC adventures for my DnD games often enough for side stuff etc... so the content is absolutely there, but yeah the editing could use touching up here and there.

I noticed in the original Tome of Adventure that some of the text will refer to page numbers from the original publication. So it'll say something like "see ITEM on page 33," but the adventure started on page 64 and the item is actually on page 71. Same lack of editing, or editing misses.

It's definitely the additional social-friend-hangout that fuels the "in the moment" aspect for me in-person. It's not the same for me online, though... I have to really force myself to pay attention as a player online, and it kills most of the enjoyment for me.
