    Game night cancelled

No, it's not uncommon nor sad to feel that way. Hell, I'm just jealous of anyone who can play MONTHLY, much less weekly. I'm about to start a Pathfinder AP and if I could get the group together every 6 weeks it'd be a miracle. Getting old(er) sucks!

Are you attending Gen Con 2009?

Yes, and this will be my first GenCon ever. Thanks to Paizo and Pathfinder RPG! Shouldn't this thread have been forked from the "Drinking and Whoring for XP" thread?

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Sneak Peeks Part 2 (New thread)

Nice summary. Thanks for posting these! PS: Isn't the Ranger's caster level progression at -3 instead of -1 (or 1/2)?

Rise of the Runelords vs. Curse of the Crimson Throne

Probably the only one he mentioned specifically in his post: Curse of the Crimson Throne (CotCT). To which I concur.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Sneak Peeks (Old thread)

Much to my chagrin, it's still in there, most likely unmodified. Looks like there will be at least one feat still banned in my Pathfinder game!

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Sneak Peeks (Old thread)

You haven't looked at their APs much, have you? They have made great use of monster advancement, templates (and lots of OGC from other company's books, especially the Advanced Bestiary and the Book of Fiends) and class levels, as well as interesting battlefields and tactics. In most cases, the...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Sneak Peeks (Old thread)

And if they were designing a new game from the ground up, they probably would have just bumped the listed CR up to an appropriate level. But that's not what they are doing. They are trying to keep backwards compatibility as a #1 priority, and that means 3.X CR stays the same in PRPG. If that...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

I'd be willing to wager you would have gotten the answer you needed if you had asked these kinds of questions on page 1 instead of playing 4 pages of "guess what I'm looking for".

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

Just one more reason why I'm finally going to a Gen Con, and you guys are working overtime to make sure it'll be fantastic! Thanks!!

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

Doh! You beat me to it! I guess I could mention the two free modules they have on their website, but I'm so miffed about being scooped, I don't think I feel like linking to them! Nyahh!!

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

Or the free PDFs of the first two Adventure Paths, Rise of the Runelords and Curse of the Crimson Throne. That and the Pathfinder Society Organized Play Guide. It has a nice bit of flavor and basic info about the 5 nation/factions around Absolom. I don't even own the CS, but from reading the...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

Most of those cultures wouldn't be very recognizable to "modern" eyes. My point is that our own world had vastly different cultures and ethnicities during it's past, all concurrent and not at all "overarcing" nor "cohesive". Why should a campaign setting for a role-playing game be seen in a poor...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

This would be pretty funny.... if it weren't for the fact that most of the cultural regions are lifted straight out of our own world's past. Was there some overarching metaplot to earth when the Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Mayans, Aztecs, Romans, Egyptians, Persians, Zulu, Goths and Vandals were...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

My point was that your list should have been more than enough solid reasons to enjoy the setting. You seem to have researched a bit on your own to make that short list in the first place, anything more would just be people's opinions, which may or may not be useful.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Chronicles setting: what does it offer?

Jeez, what more do you want, a Golden Ticket with every Campaign Setting hardback sold?? How about this: ongoing support.

Mary Sue- Not sure I understand

Riiiiiight. :hmm: I didn't read very many Forgotten Realms novels set in the Dalelands, but one of the one or two I did read had Elminster bedding the Symbul. He was such a Mary Sue that it completely turned me off of that part of the setting for good.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo sets price of Pathfinder RPG PDF at $9.99!!!!!

Of course, if you subscribe to the print version of their adventure paths, you get a 30% discount from cover price and a FREE PDF of each issue. That's not quite the same, but it ain't nuthin' neither.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo sets price of Pathfinder RPG PDF at $9.99!!!!!

This is all very facinating, but could we carry this on to a forked thread, as it's link to the original topic is tenuous at best?

Missing maps: Saltmarsh and Reptile God.

I own both of these, but they are buried in boxes somewhere. As to The Cult of the Reptile God, IIRC the temple is in a square, walled compound lined with rose bushes (I remember this because when I ran it, the party was captured and were escaping the temple and everyone looked at the wizard...
