Fiery Dragon has Sword & Sorcery license?

Other than myself, Rumere was a name I recall on most Scarred Lands threads. Unfortunately, you won't get any conversion notes from me, unless you want it converted to Pathfinder RPG.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: The reason the OGL was a bad idea for WOTC

I think you have the cart before the horse. If it weren't for 4th ed and the restrictive GSL, Paizo would never have needed to make Pathfinder under the OGL. In other words, there would not be a direct competitor like this (which, it's not, really) if not for the GSL, not the OGL.

Forked Thread: Goodman IS going GSL!

Re-read my post, specifically where I conceded that I didn't make my original post clear, and that I agreed that a join-on date in and of itself should not automatically command respect. Now that you have re-read and understand what I was saying, maybe everyone can stop belaboring the idea of...

Forked Thread: Goodman IS going GSL!

Perhaps I wan't clear in my statement. I agree just signing up and posting lots doesn't automatically mean you deserve respect. However, if people who have been a member of this board for more than a few weeks actually READ the things Psion has posted in all the time he's been on, including a...

Forked Thread: Goodman IS going GSL!

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of why ENworld is a barren wasteland to me. A guy who hasn't been on these boards for 6 WEEKS comes in here and acts like this to a guy who has been here over 6 YEARS (and was with me on rec.games.frp.dnd before that). Psion is an icon of these...

4E- Starting to win me over

You don't have to be smart at all, really. INT mod is just a bonus, and a nearly insignificant one at that. Consider: most tradesmen are experts (with a lot of skill points to burn), so max ranks in your craft skill (level+3) with a skill focus in your area of expertise (+3) using some good...

    Taking a Break

I had a somewhat lengthy reply to this, but the new boards ate it. So I guess that confirms what I was writing in the first place. I agree with GKJIII and of course, RC as I have quoted. I think a lot of the problem came from the fact that shortly after 4th ed was announced, many "new blood"...

Green Ronin not signing GSL (Forked Thread: Doing the GSL. Who?)

More like "So the publisher of the first ever 3rd ed adventure who was burned badly by the 3.5 revision saw another edition coming down the pike, rightly curtailed their D&D support to a trickle (but not abandoning it entirely) isn't going to sign away the future of his company to the whims of...

Green Ronin not signing GSL (Forked Thread: Doing the GSL. Who?)

I gather from his join date that he has been at least a lurker for over a year longer than you've been posting. Got anymore useless deflections or are you willing to actually respond to his posts?

    Sons of Gruumsh module

There once was a web enhancement for this on the Wizard's site called "Tougher Sons" or somesuch. I used that, plus did some heavy reworking to fit it into my Scarred Lands game. The party was around 9th level, and had 6 members, and instead of a hostage rescue it was a "grab the McGauffin"...

Pramas on 4E and New Gamers

*boggle* I guess your group didn't have very many AVLD RKAs from OIFs then, right?

A friendly challenge to 3.x DMs not sure about 4e

Yeah, give it a fair and honest try, by spending money on it and threby NOT voting with your wallet. In other words, try it out by buying it!

    WOTC Get On Your Horse!

Ok, so they didn't bilk anyone out of $5000, that still doesn't change the effect their empty promises and constant delays had on the 3rd party publishers.

    WOTC Get On Your Horse!

I must have missed where it was stated at all, much less many times, but I was under the distinct impression Necromancer Games paid up. In any case, even if the GSL was free and came with a lolipop, it still didn't get to the 3rd party guys in time for them to have products available at 4th ed...

    WOTC Get On Your Horse!

What's the rush? They already held it long enough to screw all the 3rd party publishers, even the ones who forked over the $5000 for the "early bird" edition.

    Marketing criticisms miss the point

Why not? Because all that "baggage" was what appealed to lots of players in the first place, maybe? And regarding "rebuying what you already own", do you mean like gnomes, bards and frost giants? Or do you think they threw that "baggage" out as well? I don't think so. Second edition had splat...

What on earth does "video-gamey" mean?

You are only reading part of my quote. I'd agree with you if all I said were "combat oriented". Which I did not. I said "combat oriented at the expense of any true freedom of INTERACTION beyond which mook to smite". You know, like in a video game. I'd love to banter more about this, but not...

What on earth does "video-gamey" mean?

It means "like a video game", or if you prefer, "has many elements that are also found in popular video games, which notoriously can handle complex math and if-then type discreet decisions, and is famously combat oriented at the expense of any true freedom or interaction beyond which mook to...

Why do I complain about 4E?

First off, the rules are in playtest, an alpha playtest at that. What you see now is not what the final book will be. Secondly, it is extremely backwards compatible while still making a lot of changes. But it's only one way compatibility. You can pick up most any 3.5 adventure and run it (with...

    WotC Site Post 4E Release

Ok, how about 4th ed was the movie, but the D&Di was the 3-D glasses they were supposed to have to get the "full effect". And don't get me wrong, I'm not mad. I just see how a lot of people are. I have in fact wasted more time in this thread than I have actively being mad (well, about this...
