Warlord Player's job is to tell other players what to do??

No, not theoretically. Not at all, actually. The Rules for PCs are different than the Rules for monsters and NPCs.

D&D 4E Keith Baker on 4E! (The Hellcow responds!)

Because it's explicit. Because it's that way in the rules. Because for some people, the text of the rules is the only thing that matters.

Raise Dead: A nice big bone to the simulationists

Welcome to the other side of the fence; the side where the game doesn't cater to your every whim and you might have to houserule something, or several somethings. We've lived with the Immortal Oligarchy rez-rule for multiple editions, and we've had to tweak it/throw it out wholesale to make the...

    Swordmage-> annoying...

I, too, am saddened by the Swordmage being held for ransom by the nefarious Forgotten Realms.

WOTC, Scott, Where in the World is the GSL

I'm not going to say that I'll never buy third party products, but they play essentially zero factor in my 'switching' decision. I hope Paizo endures their year or so of obstinance, and I hope to see them publish for 4e in the future. I may even take a gander at their 4e products, even though...

    Gleemax is 10% useful=90% useless

Welp, there's your problem. I've never had any problems with the boards or logging in to see the articles. But I'm on Firefox, which is always good. I'd read the blogs, but I can't hardly find them. If they were easier to sift through, that'd be great.

How Do You Like the Warlord?

It's much easier to yell about how something sucks than to yell about how much you like something. Also, I think what we've seen of the Warlord rocks.

Fourt Edition energy drain - see warrior wight

Well, really it only requires a 'short' rest, since you can freely use healing surges during a short rest. But if you're out of healing surges, an extended rest would do it. I wonder if using healing surges in this way just cures life drain, or if they also heal hp.

    Fomorians article on DDI

This is the internet, man. You've got to rise up against the hegemony of the dictionary. This is a brave new world where w00t, and lulz, and ninjae roam freely, where you can surf for months and not see a single 'correctly' spelled sentence. Embrace the madness, or drown in it.

    D&D 4E 4e Monster List - Dwarven Nosepicker & Elven Butt Scratcher

What was it again? "The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again."

    Fomorians article on DDI

I, for one, will be calling it the Gl'ack-XSp'attle D'zuuutunork. Because that's much better, and it perfectly describes what the place is about. Or, you know, not at all.

    Post your Home-made Monsters

Here's my ideas for some nasty ice-bugs. Also, an icy howling wind-thing. I have no idea if the numbers make sense and I didn't give them ability scores yet either. Oh, and also I'm treating "X and Y damage type" as 'one set of damage, use your lowest resistance of the two' because it makes...

    D&D 4E Eberron: The Artificer in 4e...

I like. It seems to me to be a good overview of the intended themes of the artificer. There's a little too much reliance on 'magic items' for me to hotwire it into a 4e preview, which I'm a bit bummed about, but otherwise very nice.

    Random Speculation on Psionics

Yes. Please, god yes. Dump the metacreativity and psychoportation and acid/cold/fire nonsense. Psychic and force damage, okay. Charms, illusions, mind control? Absolutely. Running up walls and mindblades? That's cool, too, I guess. But dump the Acid of the Black Dragon Breath or Energy...

    D&D 4E DDXP 4E Rules Appendix

Normal: Always get one standard action. First Reaction: Sometimes you get an entire round of actions if you want plus also the option for a standard action later in combat. That seems pretty nice, depending on how many action points/surprised combats you get.

Who still doesn't have a horse in this race?

I hadn't played or run or even paid attention to D&D for almost a year before they announced 4e, and I never bought the 3.x core books (SRD and friend-mooching), so I have no reason to stick with 3.x and every reason to buy 4e - I'm digging most of the differences, and it looks like it will be...

D&D 4E What will your first 4E campaign look like?

My first campaign will mostly be implied PoL. The PCs will start in a small village on the northern edge of the vast, feyhaunted wilderness, and the southernmost reaches of the empire of Teraz. But it is an empire in name only. Grey-skinned soldiers from the capital arrive once a year to take...

    Tieflings

"Cambion" doesn't do it for me. It sounds silly, and boring. I dunno why, but I'm not going to use it. Probably just stick with Tiefling. And I dig the horns and tail. Fie on anatomical correctness.
