    July Errata is up

I don't really get the point of resurrecting the Magic Missile sacred cow.

    Help fixing monster damage

Dunno if you read the OP or the title of the thread, but we're not talking about giving the players damage bonuses.

    Tips On Being Evil

    Thanks, FATAL.

    FFG's Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I just really like the idea of laying out some objectives for my party - makes the battle into "what will happen if we fail?" rather than simply, "will we live or die?"

    Christ, that's grim.

War of the Burning Sky – Scouring of Gate Pass detailed impressions (spoilers)

Agreed. I hate skill challenges because they just seem so artificial. A single roll should suffice for most things. Why does, "I try to sneak past the guard" or, "I try to convince the baron" have to involve fifteen seperate dice rolls? Perhaps they were trying to mitigate the effect one bad...

Stun: a guide on how to avoid it ?

Actually, I used a dragon, so I guess I must've blanked out the stunning from my mind. Carrion crawlers only stun after like three failed saves, and I used those too. Edit: And I used an ettin! What the hell is wrong with me

    Two-blade ranger really high damage

    Nasty combination.

    Got me an Orcus today!

I think the mini looks awful. His proportions are completely off - look at his arms! They're tiny! I guess it goes back to the original picture, though. Reminds me of Dick Tracy.

    FFG's Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

By the way, the "warfare in D&D" link in your sig was very interesting, and I will be trying it out in my game. Thanks!

War of the Burning Sky – Scouring of Gate Pass detailed impressions (spoilers)

Agreed. I'd give them XP if all they did was yell, "Find your ferret?! Don't you know there's a war on?" You could even make a skill challenge of it - "Convince this idiot that he has more pressing matters than finding a pet right now".

    D&D 4E 4e Combat in PbP

I've seen PbP games where the first combat took six days to carry out. Dear God.

Stun: a guide on how to avoid it ?

I don't think I've ever used a monster that has a stun power. Not really through choice, either - I just haven't come across one from level 1-9 yet.

Anyone else out there with rule overload?

Thing about the "ranged defender" idea is that it's just a bit unfair. Picture the scenario: DM: You approach the cliffs. At the bottom of the cliff there are five hobgoblins, at the top stands a hobgoblin bowman. Roll initiative. OK, bowman first - he uses an encounter power and hits all of...

D&D 4E How have PCs died in your 4e games?

But is that necessarily a good thing? I personally would prefer it if my players didn't have characters they've spent months developing killed outright and taken away from them. You probably use raise dead in your game, though, I guess. I find that that ritual adds more problems thematically...

    55% to hit always

Didn't WotC make a module for six-year-olds that had the rules boiled down to something like this? It'd be a fine way to make a simple RPG for kids - everyone flips a coin for attack rolls, everyone has five hitpoints except for defenders who have ten, everyone does one damage a hit except for...

    D&D 4E 4e Campaigns level 1 to 30 - a good one ?

I kinda wish people wouldn't use acronyms so much. What's HPE?

Monsters and PCs add half their level to damage

I'd watch out - many of the monster manual 2 and 3 monsters have had their damage boosted already. For example, the Light of Amoth is doing 4d10+20 damage a hit - I think 4d10+35 might be overkill.
