    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Half-elves ... right. Forgot about those guys.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

You bring up a good point. We don't know what's hidden in their leafy, embroidered pantaloons. Heck, we don't even know for sure if they use good old meiosis! Maybe they're don't even have a sexual urge. Although elfolution has clearly selected for physical attractiveness, it could be a linked...

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Really? I didn't realize otters had to be hairy. Huh. Sounds about right to me. If I were a pretty little elf and lived on and on for 2000 years, I'd likely work my way around the entire forest kingdom.

Yeah, that was a 64-pager. Thank goodness, I did get an A+.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Okay. Here are some good ones from a paper I wrote. There is some variance between studies, but most of them cite numbers ranging from 10-25%. Personally, I think the numbers are closer to 10-15% for those who are exclusively homosexual. Anderson, John D. (1994). School Climate for Gay and...

D&D 4E Hypothetical Scenario: What if WotC chooses never to do 4E?

I hear you. The thing is that I've witnessed this kind of crossover take place ... sometimes by my own urging, but it does happen occasionally. I have a hunch that it happens even when I'm not around. It goes down like this. Somehow folks start playing MMORPGs like WoW, Everquest, LotR-OL, or...

Elmore cover art for final issue of Dragon

Much of his newer work (and some of his older work ... the red box comes to mind) portrays great dynamism. His new stuff is so naturalistic and painterly, I really like it. Maybe with this particular piece he's consciously referencing his older, more static style deliberately.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Kae'Yoss ... I was making with the funny, not trying to get your dander up, chum! Admittedly, though ... I'm not as funny as I often think I am! :p

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

It does if you're lucky ... and gay. That is actually a really good point. Elves are like otters and dwarves are like bears (this is actual terminology, folks ... I didn't make this up). Okay, so far we've determined that elves and dwarves may have homosexual tendencies. That goes a long way...

Awesome! More Ptolus material is always a good thing.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Tee-hee-hee! So true ... so true. They're all so butch. Genius. What district or street do you have in mind? I would want it near Tavern Row for the, you know, drinking.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

According to sociologists and sexologists, gay folks tend to make up about 10-15% of the human population across many cultures (with surprisingly larger numbers representing dabblers and bisexuals). Gayness is also seen among many other kinds of mammals. It would not be unreasonable to assume...

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Oh, sorry Umbran. I happen to live in a gay neighborhood (Hillcrest in San Diego) and most of my friends are gay. As a result, I'm surrounded by this kind of humor all the time. I tend forget that PC lines are enforced much more strictly outside my circle of friends. My gay friends thought it...

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Wilderlands of High Fantasy and Dragonlance ... both are already kind of punny. Whew ... okay ... I should stop now.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Not sure about the Realms, but there's plenty of evidence about Gayhawk ... erm ... I mean Greyhawk. I'm actually a huge Greyhawk fan, btw. I'm just a sucker for bad puns. ;) Is Fagotten Realms pushing it? That was the cleaner version. :uhoh: Anyway, I imagine that there would be a higher...

Elmore cover art for final issue of Dragon

It's cool. I love Elmore. His stuff resonated with my imagination the most of all the 80's artists. An Elmore (with a dragon and a nubile) gracing the cover is completely appropriate, methinks.

D&D 4E Hypothetical Scenario: What if WotC chooses never to do 4E?

Yup. I also think that WoW is helping to mainstream D&D and tabletop RPGs. It is so weird, though, to hear non-nerdy kids talking about hit points and armor class.

D&D 4E Hypothetical Scenario: What if WotC chooses never to do 4E?

Average? So for every 25 year old there's a 55 year old, and for every 16 year old playing there's a corresponding 64 year old? I find this proposition a bit unlikely. I've recently started a 2nd career as a high school teacher. Within a single year, I've encountered a surprisingly large...

Expedition To.... / Which Expedition do you want to see next?

These all sound like lovely ideas to me (in roughly this order) ... Expedition to the Lost City Expedition to the Lost Temple of Tharizdun Expedition to the Lost Caverns of Tsojancth Expedition to Grahame Morris' UK modules (all of 'em!) Expedition to Maure's Fantastic Castle Adventure...
