I don't have any special insight into the MMI monster set. But, I suspect that the monsters will frequently have mulitple entries/stat blocks for different roles. We know, for instance, that there are Hobgoblin Soldiers and Archers. And we've seen the rather short Spined Devil stat block...
Interesting: a quick copy-paste into Word shows that the new write up is longer than the old one (by about 50%!). Of course, the old write up had zero whitespace and is kind of hard to read because of it.
This is also better, because the crunchy bit that you'd be trying to look up on the fly...
I recall that Bane is supposed to be a God of War, and Kord still has Strength in the portfolio.
For my part, I hope Asmodeus has Dominion/Rulership and Contracts as part of his portfolio; it makes since thematically and would give more reasons why a temple of Asmodeus can be part of civilized...
No--but Yondalla's *symbol* is a cornucopia, which is associated with good harvests so presumably she has some connection to agriculture. And she's pretty much the only possible choice (Obad-hai is *wilderness*, and Ehlonna *forests*--no agriculture in the usual since there!). 3e doesn't appear...
What's curious about that is the only two other races actually *mentioned* there lifespans: Dragonborn (same as humans, but grow faster--than modern humans anyway!) and Eladrins (~300 years IIRC; I've already loaned my R&C out).
For that matter, gray elves (==Eladrin) were the really...
I like this idea very much. For that matter, didn't Druids use to get a '1000 faces' disguise power too? If so, they could be both a Mobility striker and a 'Doppleganger' striker ( "Wait, you aren't Bob. AHHHH my spleen!" ;)) in the same way that Rogues look like they will be Mobility and Lurker...
Especially since they explicitly mentioned Dragonborn wielding Bastard Swords (Katanas) in R&C.
IMO, the differences in weapons should mostly be reflected in the special abilities you can get to use with them.
Well, boobs (meaning nulliparous breasts--those present before first pregnancy) aren't a feature of female Mammals: they're a (delightful!) feature of female Humans only.
For my part, the 'every fantasy quasi-humanoid female has boobs' schtik is purely a convenience for Human players (100% of...
I think Barbarians are Defenders, but they are a different 'subrole' than pretty much any other Defender. Most Defenders are effectivley Soldiers--but Barbarians are Brutes (to borrow the Monster Role names).
Soldiers defend largely by being the Offensive Line (switching to Football...
Hmmm, she brought *six* people with her on a teleport: Caster Level == 18! Ouch...
(of course, being a theurge I'm betting she has Practiced Spellcaster and is a Wiz 5/Clr 3/MTh 10...without it, she'd have to be 21st level!)
Doing Favored Soul/ Spell-less Paladin would be nice, too: Nice saving throws, All weapons are Good-aligned (enough to beat most of the low to mid level Demon DR).
This thread wins!
And for my thought: how about have an ancient civilization rise from the past--in a kind of reverse order? One day, someone discovers a ruin that wasn't there yesterday--by the time a serious investigation is mounted, it's no longer a ruin, just abandoned! What will happen...
IIRC (I don't have the Saga book handy), the gang fire doesn't itself multiply the damage--but if the gang attacker scores well above what it needed, it got a bonus to damage.
It also means that the players and the DM were all averaging 1 minute/round of actions. That amazes me, mostly because many of those rounds the DM would have been dealing with 15 gobs!
In fact, I wonder if part of the minion rules isn't a 'gang fire' rule, like batteries of weapon in Saga...
