    Done buying?

I've gone periods of 5-10 years where I bought nothing new RPG-wise, and occasionally a few where I've bought nothing used either. That's even including video games. Yeah, it's very possible to take a hiatus from buying products and still have fun.

    Associated Press notes D&D lawsuits

There are also different laws regarding what property can be taken, or how much of your salary can be garnished. In Florida, if I recall correctly, your house and car can't normally be taken. Or it might just be your house. That's why Bernie Madoff and O. J. Simpson have houses there anyway...

    Habro copyright lawsuits

There is an existing thread on it, yes. See here. Not to mention the dozens of threads from when there was a separate forum, which went who knows where!

    AD&D is not "rules light"

Except, perhaps in the meaning of whatever folks are saying it. Which is possibly in comparison to something else, but who knows, you didn't reply to any posts, so it's hard to see how we can clarify their meaning for you.

what do you do when a +3 bloodclaw weapon is more powerful than a +4 artifact

Well, I can understand that PC didn't like my post, sorry about that, but I do stand by my suggestion that it might be better to try another forum, such as a blog where you might find more catharsis. You may find you're getting people here trying to fix your problem, while you don't want a fix...

    Associated Press notes D&D lawsuits

None of Scribd at least, since those got taken down. And the "My account was hijacked" defense? I'd expect Wizards to tear that down rather quickly. "Did you report your wallet stolen?" "What other accounts were hijacked by these alleged thieves?" A defense is nice, but most people don't...

How the heck did medieval war work? And other rambling questions.

Sounds workable...and to a certain extent, this sort of thing has been done already. There are plenty of underground sites in the world, many quite ancient. Things to remember: Water in caves is both good and bad. good because everybody needs to drink. Bad because too much water causes...

Masada might be an example of it. Bit more at this article.

Do we count how Kevin Costner apologized for the Postman on the DVD commentary? Lisa: Ooh, I hear this really sucks. [she presses a button for director's commentary and Kevin Costner appears in a split screen] Costner: I'm sorry. I am really sorry. Ugh, ah, I don't know...

How the heck did medieval war work? And other rambling questions.

Actually, I'd say a lot of medieval war was like that. Besieging a castle was time consuming and exhausting. Reading the Wikipedia article on Sieges might give you a lot of inspiration. Heck, if you just one thing to inspire you, try the Siege of Troy. Yeah, I'm sure the story had a lot of...

    Canon isn't realistic...

Thanks to the way people communicate, "X is canon" has become virtually the same as "X is in the continuity" . Yay for flexible language! I wouldn't fret too much about it. Depends on the circumstances. It can be simply authorial fiat, or somebody can have their own set of "canon" for their...

    Canon isn't realistic...

But there is! The word "canon" itself is from the real world, and the particular meaning involved in fiction comes from the real world example of what works are considered part of the holy scriptures. Sure, there's disagreement in many cases, BUT then it's not like there's not disagreement as...

    I Owe Wizards an Apology

Play it smart, both as a player and a GM. As a player, be careful on what bothers you. While you can have valid concerns, nagging the GM will only ruin the game. As the GM be responsive to what your players are bothered about, treating yourself as being always right will only ruin the game...

Impossible To Run A GameForked Thread: I Owe Wizards an Apology

The same as I would expect from a writer in the universe...if they're going to completely break canon, then they'd better do a good job of it and keep me entertained. Ezekiel Sims broke Spiderman Canon. I didn't mind, I was entertained. I cannot say the same about the Spider-clone saga...
