    D&D 5E (2024) Bastions in the 2024 DMs Guide

They did say that the chapter on Greyhawk will include suggestions on where players could establish bastions, so definitely a possibility.

    D&D General Crafting magic items

For those interested, here's a brief summary of the 2024 crafting rules for healing potions and scrolls: Potion of Healing: Proficiency and use of Herbalism Kit, 25 gp raw materials, 8 hours of work. Scrolls: Proficiency and use of Calligrapher's Tools, must have spell prepared each day taken...

    D&D General Crafting magic items

The 2024 PHB has crafting rules for healing potions and scrolls. Chris Perkins said the DMG will expand upon those. He was a little vague on the specifics, like will they cover every type/category of magic items (I assume yes).

    D&D General Dmg previews up

Sorry, mostly chapters 1-3. That was at the end of the video so didn’t make my post.

    D&D General Dmg previews up

Yep, that's my assumption too. And since I was trying to type while watching, I may have missed that bit. Makes sense that it's the player controlling the hirelings on the Bastion Turn.

    D&D General Dmg previews up

While that’s certainly how I’d run it, they did use the term “Bastion Turn” in the video. We shall see soon enough!

    D&D General Dmg previews up

Yeah, had the same thought (no pun intended). It honestly sounds a little video gamey to me. I really like the concept of Bastions/Strongholds, but question the implementation. Will reserve judgment until I can read the actual mechanics on how it works.

    D&D General Dmg previews up

Yeah, the video glossed over it. It was definitely emphasizing that this book should appeal to beginners. They did say it included expanded rules for crafting magic items however.

    D&D General Dmg previews up

A quick summary after watching 2/3 of the video: 1. Adventures. Will include 5 short "adventures", most are about a 1/2 page. 2. Greyhawk. Greyhawk treatment similar to the original Gazetteer. Focuses first on the City, then describes the wider world, references adventure sites. Also...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Jack pivoted quickly to counter the attacking giant, seeking a weak point in its defenses with The Knife. He then jumped out of it's reach and moved further into room, looking to engage the smaller giants. Jack attacks HG2 with his dagger, then uses a bonus action to disengage and move to...

Rings of Power is Back [+] Appreciation

Just watched E7. Continue to love how they portray Sauron and his subtle use of manipulation and power. Was very cool seeing how he was also controlling the guards (and who knows who else). The cruelty was deep, including having Celembrimbor shove his assistant off the wall. Ooof.

    New Pop Up Ads?

Is it just me, or have the pop up ads on mobile recently gotten way more obnoxious? Like obscuring when I’m trying to write a post.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Finally had a chance to sit down with the PHB today. Just an initial scan to get a feel for the layout, usability, and changes. Mostly I like the layout. What I really DO NOT LIKE how they stuck the spell lists with the class write ups. I mean, it’s fine to put them there, but would it have...

D&D 5E (2024) Are we going to see DMG previews?

As a regular DM and fan of Greyhawk, I’m definitely looking forward to this (and the MM) more so than the PHB. My guess is we see something Monday or Tuesday.
