D&D 5E (2024) Should Green Flame Blade and Booming Blade be in the new PHB?

These two spells can be build defining, so they should definitely be part of the basic foundation of D&D. In fact, it wouldn't hurt if they added a few more gish type spells in the same pattern.

D&D 5E (2014) Steamboat Willie Available on DMs Guild!

I get it, you're not in the market for Mickey Mouse stories, but that doesn't mean nobody is. It's a big world out there, and people have different preferences and experiences.

D&D 5E (2014) Steamboat Willie Available on DMs Guild!

Using an established character in your story means you can jump right into the action instead of using page count on introducing the setting and characters. And it can absolutely help you commercially if it's a character that people like and want more stories about. Disney has been using...

D&D 5E (2014) If you had natural armor, would you wear manufactured armor?

A lizardman could probably get away with just wearing mail with no padding underneath. Mechanically that could be reflected by a reduced STR requirement, or no stealth penalty on some armors that usually have it.

D&D 5E (2014) If you had natural armor, would you wear manufactured armor?

If expect to get hit, I'll wear armor when appropriate if it's more protective than my natural armor. Most of the natural armor traits in 5e are only good if combined with good DEX, so most classes will still benefit from wearing medium or heavy armor.

D&D 5E (2014) Steamboat Willie Available on DMs Guild!

Mickey Mouse may be pretty boring in most of his cartoon appearances, but he also features in a bunch of excellent comics where he goes on adventures and solves crimes. That aspect of the character is still under copyright, but someday.... Edit: Mickey Mouse in Death Valley was published in...

D&D 5E (2014) Steamboat Willie Available on DMs Guild!

But the character Mickey Mouse is in the public domain, at least the earliest versions of him. The US patent office has ruled that you are permitted to use a trademarked name to refer to a public domain character in your product, as long as the use is descriptive and doesn't give any false...

    D&D General Inquisitor class

Any class that can cast Zone of Truth, so Cleric, Bard or Paladin. Zone of Truth + the authority to compel suspects to answer questions is really the only thing you need for a successful inquisition.

D&D General No, Hasbro Is Not Selling D&D

Anton Petrov is a good example of the dangers of youtube. He purports to be a science reporter, but most of the stuff he posts is pseudoscience at best. He demonstrates how someone who is charming, well spoken and flattering can easily fill our heads with nonsense.

D&D General Please make suggestions for a remote but connected and interacting audience for a bard

It sounds like this could be fun, so go for it! I don't think it needs any kind of mechanical support. Just be ready to kill off the imp if the rest of the players don't enjoy it, or get tired of it after a while.

    WotC Hasbro selling D&D IP?

What did you think about the rest of my post?

    D&D General Defining Story

I like to say that the story is the tale of what actually happens during the game, while the plot is the DM's plan for what can/will happen. Depending on the game the plot can have a major or minor impact on how the story ends up.

D&D General Souls and Spirits - are they necessary in order to exist?

In some versions of the lore, mind flayers don't have souls, so they don't seem to be strictly necessary for all living creatures. For ordinary mortals, the soul is the vessel for the personality, so a person without a soul is just a catatonic body, an empty shell. They may respond to basic...

    WotC Hasbro selling D&D IP?

"Might be", but I'm not seeing significant value to anyone for GI Joe or any of the other washed-out properties Hasbro is sitting on. I'm sure they'd sell if the price was right, but the right price might not be enough money to cover the supposed hole in Hasbro's finances. The idea that "D&D is...

    WotC Hasbro selling D&D IP?

But who would buy GI Joe? If a business is bleeding money and needs to sell assets to raise cash fast, they're going to have to sell something that's actually valuable.

D&D 5E (2024) Any Word on the Next Playtest?

One well-known observation in project management is that tasks expand to fill the time allocated to them. If you don't have any deadline, then the work will never be completed. Something like a rulebook is never fully "ready", there's always going to be something that can be improved. Also...

    D&D General Gothic horror class

Not a class, but the Commoner from the monster manual seems most appropriate.

    D&D 5E (2014) Reevaluating Mage Slayer feat

Sadly, 2024 monsters will almost never trigger the feat since they don't cast spells, they have special abilities that do the same things as spells but don't count as spellcasting.

Evil Genius Games and Netflix Settle 'Rebel Moon' TTRPG Lawsuit

This is like two seagulls figthing over a french fry, only for a bicyclist to ride over the potato stick and crush it into the ground. Suddenly both birds step away and pretend they never wanted it in the first place.

    D&D 5E (2014) The popularity of horror adventures/settings for 5e

There's a reason the chase rules are in the DMG, the DM will have to adjucate all these things.
