Depends on what you mean by "impulse buy": at $19.99 USD in 2014, the Phandelver Starter Set was an "I came to Target for milk, diapers, and AAA batteries...but what pray tell is this...?" sort of impulse buy. $49.99 today is more an "I came here to buy a board game with my predetermined board...

It is not an impulse buy...but it is well situated for a pretty standard board game purchase.

This is still fairly low cost, particularly as they seem to be selling it more like a pick up and play board game suitable for kids.

Campaign framework is what they did for Greyhawk in the DMG, provided a base of operations (Free City of Greyhawk), bullet pointed a series of quickstart Advenfures, and provided three campaign structures a DM could build out.

I expect changes, but probably nothing earth shattering: similar to MotM kevel shifts. The big thing is thst this book us not revising or reprinting much lore: Rising is stikk the book for actual setting details.

And they were bubling Dragon Delves with Fizban in direct orders. They reference a ton of 5E books in the new DMG, suggesting them for use.

They ate keeping Rising from the Last War in print: in fact they are selling it as a bundle with this book, and are not repeating the Setting info by and large. This is a Supplement to Rising from the Last War, not a replacement.

I mean, it is that or just roll over and die. As it is, frankly their odds are grim. Yes, nobody would contribute to the Coca-Cola Defense Fund. But because they have an ongoing relawith fans, it is not crazy to ask the fans for help, if they want to see more books in the future. Maybe a PDF...
