D&D General Does Earth (or at least a fantasy version of it) have a crystal sphere and exist in the D&D Cosmology?

Yep, that’d be the way to explain it. A different dimension. I don’t know if current D&D uses the term dimension, though. Going by the 3E Manual of the Planes, I think we’d have to say Earth, as we know it, would be explained as being in a different cosmology - one outside the D&D Cosmology...

D&D General Does Earth (or at least a fantasy version of it) have a crystal sphere and exist in the D&D Cosmology?

In the D&D Cosmology, countless worlds, along with their solar systems, are encased in crystal spheres that bob in the Astral Sea. You can travel between the worlds in a spelljammer ship. All the worlds share the same Prime Material Plane. I was wondering if our Earth, or at least a fantasy...

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

Thanks, guys, for the info on PF2. I might stick with 3.0 for now and try to simplify some things. Combine some skills into one - like Spot/Listen as Perception and Hide/Move Silently as Stealth. And then maybe try out a simplified skill system like the ones presented in the Unearthed Arcana 3E...

D&D 5E (2014) Quest From The Infinite Staircase Adventures Revealed

Oh yep, fair enough. A different prime material plane would be a different cosmology, too - one that's outside of the D&D Cosmology. I might keep the starship in the D&D Cosmology somehow.

D&D 5E (2014) Quest From The Infinite Staircase Adventures Revealed

I wonder if there’ll be more details on where the starship from Expedition to the Barrier Peaks came from. It could possibly be a Spelljammer in 5E cosmology as each world’s “space” is encased in a crystal sphere separated by the Astral Sea.

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

Oh... is PF2 less complex? What percentage less complex would it be? I have been eyeing off the shiny new Remastered books. I also like how the 2nd edition of Starfinder will be compatible with PF2 as I was thinking of doing a fantasy/sci-fi crossover. The alternative to that is to use the...

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

Possibly the length and breadth of the Flaeness. But even if it were only in one region, it wouldn't matter. There is a lot of pleasure in pouring over a gorgeous fold-out map and thumbing through a beautifully illustrated setting book. But that might be an old school way of thinking. I'm...

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

Oh, yep. That makes sense. Would have been nice to get some closure on the series, though.

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

A run down of all the gods, a map of the Flanaess and some basic info would be good. It doesn't have to be much. Just a bit of a guideline of the bigger picture.

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

I would love to see Keith finish off The Dreaming Dark series of novels. They seemed to be leading up to some big reveal in the nature of the setting but then were discontinued.

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

Oh, yep. I missed the Eberrron book. Thanks for bringing to my attention. Does Shadows of the Dragon Queen and Ghosts of Saltmarsh provide everything to start a campaign in Dragonlance/Greyhawk or are they just adventures?

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

It would be nice to see campaign setting books come out for some of these locations: Greyhawk, Dragonlance, Eberron, etc. Why would you tease these locations and not follow up with some basic material to start a campaign? Or is the assumption folks can just buy pdfs of older product or...

Pathfinder 1E [Legendary Games] The ARCFORGE UNIVERSE Kickstarter is live for Pathfinder RPG!

Thanks for the tip about Mechanical Monsters. I'll take that one off the list. I always ask the question about printing as offset printed hardcovers have better production and section-sewn binding which is much stronger. PoDs, which you can buy all day long on drivethrurpg, are cheaper quality...

Pathfinder 1E [Legendary Games] The ARCFORGE UNIVERSE Kickstarter is live for Pathfinder RPG!

Thanks for the info. Sounds awesome. Are the Arcforge Players Compendium and Arcforge Universe Cyclopedia softcover or hardcover? And are they properly offset printed or just PoDs? Also, I was considering these, too: Alien Bestiary Companion Alien Codex Mechanical Monsters

Pathfinder 1E [Legendary Games] The ARCFORGE UNIVERSE Kickstarter is live for Pathfinder RPG!

Sounds good. Are any of those low-tech periods in a "medieval-type" era where you might run a traditional PF1 fantasy game?

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

This is interesting. No, I don’t really want more complex. I want to simplify things a bit.

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

Yep, I didn’t like the weapon size change in 3.5.

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

Thanks for the info! I’ve already got some adventures paths. I collected them as they came out but haven’t played them yet. I’ve got: Second Darkness Kingmaker Serpent’s Skull Skull & Shackles

Pathfinder 1E Are there compelling reasons to upgrade to PF1 from 3.0?

Thanks so much for the info and the link to the Archives of Nethys. And the Source option is really handy to see what you’re getting before you buy a book. Another option I was thinking about was maybe to stick with 3.0 but use one of the simplified skill systems in Unearthed Arcana. The...

Pathfinder 1E [Legendary Games] The ARCFORGE UNIVERSE Kickstarter is live for Pathfinder RPG!

Thanks for the summary. I've been doing some more reading about the setting and had some more questions... Is Vandara the homeworld of the humans and all the Tolkein peoples? Is the planet still inhabitable or is it a wasteland after the Qlippoth scourge? Have you ever entertained doing a...
