    What is YOUR pirate setting?

I be running a game o' pixie pirates. The PCs are a band of swashbuckling faeries, given a letter o' marque by Queen Titania to go a'plunderin' and a raidin' all the lands of humanity. So far, there be no crew more bloodthirsty, more conninving and (thanks to the pixie arrows of memory loss)...

    Publisher's Big Projects?

Talking about stuff I wrote/am writing... My brief on Book of Dragons was to make it compatible with SG:Dragons without duplicating material. A lot of it is putting dragons in context and giving the GM tools for handling big monsters. The as-yet-untitled Horror book will be under the same...

[OT] Is anyone having trouble posting to RPG.NET?

Whats the "En World Concern" deal over at RPG.net?

No, it doesn't. It's nothing major. Our people will talk to Morrus' people. Mytholder (rpg.net mod)

    The little folk....

I, er, wrote Quint. Halfling, so you should all buy it. Actually, looking over Wulf's press release (here), the two books should work quite well together. I tried to move away from rogues a small bit, and concentrated a lot on family and clan stuff. And since the master chef was mentioned:

As a DM, how open are you to allowing in or using d20 material?

I'll look at anything. I'm a fairly easy-going GM anyway, and can adapt on the fly. Most of the time, I'm more concerned with flavour in my games anyway.

What specific stuff from d20 products are you using?

In one game, I'm using Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil as the main plot. I've also allowed all the Mongoose Quint books, and AEG's Toolbox is in my GM bag of tricks. In my other game, I'm using Freeport and Savage Species, and will probably use a lot more third-party stuff as the game...

    Pixie Pirate Plot Help

(also posted on rpg.net) Right. I suddenly find myself running a campaign set in a rather low-fantasy (well, human-centric anyway) D&D world where the PCs are a gang of four Pixie Privateers. They've just been teleported into Freeport with a pouch of ship-shrinking dust, and intend to steal a...

    Comments on Sorcery & Steam?

Well, it's a book about steamtech in D&D. We wanted to at least address the fact that the basic D&D game has a lot of treehuggers running around, and how a GM could include stuff for them to do in a steam-based campaign. There's another thread discussing the book here.

Gnomes' niche in the D&D world

Halflings are halflings. I just like the little buggers. As for other monsters and races...I haven't done much work. Most of the effort has gone into theology and politics. I'm currently adapting Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, so I'm going to have to come up with origins for a lot of...

Gnomes' niche in the D&D world

In my game, faery can infect mundane creatures. Elves and half-elves are faery-tainted mortals. Gnomes are faery-tainted dwarves.

    Dawnforge, Morningstar, and Frostholm

Given Justin is the Vampire line director, I'd guess that it's coming out under the Sword and Sorcery Studios imprint, but I don't think that's confirmed.

Sorcery & Steam: got it in my hot little hands...

*big I-think-I-wrote-the-bit-you're-referring-to grin* I want my contributor's copy, dammnit. :-)

Help! Most boring 3.5 campaign yet!

I'd go with something like option 1. Have the major NPCs of the game be animals, plants, fey etc. Have the first few sessions be him just exploring the area and meeting the residents. Do up a relationship map of all the NPCs, detailing their likes, politics etc. Let him get comfortable and...

[BADD] Dragon Hunt (my players stay out!)

Oh, for minions, nothing beats a tribe of desert nomads who've been serving the dragon for generations. Their (female) caliphs are half-dragons, but stay hidden behind veils. When the party pass through their lands, they offer misleading but not technically false advice (to avoid spells like...

[BADD] Dragon Hunt (my players stay out!)

Blind them by creating a dust cloud with Hover, then use Ventriloquism and Sound Imitation to mimic the party leader shouting "I'm over this way" or whatever. Then, fly over to the leader, grapple him, and then burrow down into the secondary cave. Kill him there, then return and pick off the...

    The Gaming Ideal

Crunch vs Flavour is a false dichotomy. Well-done material should be solid, useful and inspiring.
