Assassin by a nose over the Psion. Both are banned from any game I DM. From the player side, you won't find me as a fighter, rogue, barbarian or monk.

I'd like to see it playtested at least. Maybe keep everyone equal at the lower levels then slow up the more powerful classes at the higher levels?

Nah, I'd prefer Rowling like magic. Go to school for seven years, point your wand, say a couple of words and BAM!

I'm not going to be very helpful, I'd like to see all four systems used for four different magic user classes. Wizards get the Vancian system and the other magic using classes will get one of the other methods.

I expect #5, but I'm resigned to #4.

I'm hoping for a return of this part of D&D as well. Wizard towers, constructing temples, calculating how much loot do I want to spend on this castle, collecting taxes from the peasants, feudal responsibilities, key NPC followers and better flunkies, I'd like it all back.

As many as possible. Use the old 1e typeface and you could fit twenty races in six pages. If it was up to my players, D&D would have a half dozen distinct types of elves that all look like Orlando Bloom. :hmm:

That's my recommendation as well. The Classic Four for the box, 10-12 (maybe more) in the PHB. If WOTC wants to be considerate of 4E players they are going to have to include as many 4E classes and races as possible right off the bat. The gnome and half-orc might be left out in favor of new...

I'm still buying the Dungeons Tiles, Map Packs and an occasional Box Game. The last books I bought for 4E were the Essentials paperbacks in the fall of 2010. There is a good chance I will spend more on new 1E product this year than all other RPG purchases put together. 2013 is looking good though.

I'd like to keep the name spells already listed kept as a nod to the game's past. I would not extend the list except for a PC spell creation.
