Tatoos as permanent magic items... has it been done yet?

One of the core books (the DMG I think) suggests magic tattoos as simply being slotless items-double the price, but don't take up a body slot. I think the idea is that the inability to change/sell/lend them counters the inability to be stolen, so there's no charge beyond the doubling for a...

New Alchemic Guns (revolver and double barrel rifle)

My advice would be, drop the rifle damage slightly and make them a little faster to reload-you don't have to fiddle around with all the powder and such, after all. The damage on the rifle really is massive. 2d10 18-20/x3? It's just too much, I think, especially with your handguns doing...

    REH style books and stories

"The Winter King" and sequels are fantastic. The magic (or possibly lack thereof) is great. I'm currently reading "The Last Kingdom," a Cornwell story about King Alfred. Powerful sauce!

    3.5 Without Minis?

I don't use minis, either. I occasionally scribble out a map so the PCs don't have to rely entirely on my descriptive talents.

How can I walk softly and carry a BIG sword?

Up the airy mountain, Down the rushy glen, We daren't go a-hunting For fear of little men; Wee folk, good folk, Trooping all together; Green jacket, red cap, And grey cock's feather! Down along the rocky shore, Some make their home, They live on crispy pancakes Of yellow tide-foam; Some in the...

    Help me stat these

I'd go with modified half-giant stats. Half-Giants Also see the Half-Giant monster listing. * +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Dexterity: Half-giants are tough and strong, but not too nimble. * Giant: Half-giants are not subject to spells or effects that affect humanoids only, such...

Give me some made up feats you use

Goblin Punch Prerequisites: Improved Unarmed Strike, willingness to fight dirty Benefit: When you make a full attack action, your first hit with a light weapon or unarmed strike against an adjacent opponent deals +1d4 damage. Additionally, you may take a special full-round action to make a...

How to design a Greek hoplite?

There's the Shield and Pike Style feat, from Dragon Magazine. That'd get you a shield and a longspear. IIRC, there're a lot of good shield feats in PHBII, and some in CW.

relatively minor items that are much bigger in the hands of certain characters

"If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage. The rogue’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus...

How can I walk softly and carry a BIG sword?

Me, too-I really want to play a gnoll warrior who's a tinker and peddler, and carries his wrapped-up Large bastard sword on his cart. *mutters and wishes there were more DMs in his area*

    REH style books and stories

The Walking Drum is, as mentioned, excellent. If you don't mind the 1800s or the real world, Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series is great, bloody, rip-roaring adventure. Not really fantasy, though, heheh.

    Monk unarmed attacks and Gauntlets

"When wearing armor, using a shield, or carrying a medium or heavy load, a monk loses her AC bonus, as well as her fast movement and flurry of blows abilities." I'm only going to be using 1-2 levels of monk, with Superior Unarmed Strike, Improved Natural Attack (hopefully), and Snap Kick to...

    Monk unarmed attacks and Gauntlets

I'm building a monk/fighter for a game, and I want to fight mainly with my unarmed attacks (it's not a power build). My basic idea is to wear armor and such, possibly a buckler, and use a magic gauntlet with my unarmed strikes. A gauntlet "lets you deal lethal damage rather than nonlethal damage...
