    [Fantasy Concepts] Anyone playing/running this?

A while back there was a lot of interest in some sort of a mash-up of Star Wars Saga and fantasy. There were two products to come out of that. One is a conversion that requires the use of the SWSE book(s). You can find that here: Sword and Sorcery Saga, by John "The Gneech" Robey The second...

    [3.x] 3rd Party Hidden gems?

Man, I love Multiquote I've heard really good things about the Dreamscarred Press psionics stuff. Never been in a game that would allow anything like that, so I haven't actually picked up anything yet. Thanks for those though, they sound nifty. Oh. I ummm... I guess I just don't hang out in...

    [3.x] 3rd Party Hidden gems?

So a lot of the time you'll get someone asking about "good 3rd party supplements" or rules, and you get the usual list of stuff from Green Ronin, Malhavok Press often shows up... the usual suspects. I'm curious about stuff more off the beaten path. It doesn't have to be strictly a supplement...

    I want to believe

Maybe I'm missing something here... It really looks like the OP (and/or the other players) used OOC knowledge and are now trying to explain it away and justify it. The GM certainly could have handled things differently too. At the end of the day... so what? If the OP manages to badger people...

    Feat Points

You may want to consider going with the system and costs that Sean Reynolds put up back in 2003: Feat Point System

    Crusaders are awesome!

Ah, thanks for the replies. I thumbed through the book once, but it seemed to be adding an awful lot of complexity for no real gain, so I didn't pick it up. I gotta admit though, the Crusader does sound like it'd be kinda fun as a player. As a GM... I've got too many other things to worry about.

    What's your damage?

I guess it sorta depends on what you think of Hit Points as being in the first place. There's a chunk of people (I've only run into them online) that feel Hit Points are some sort of abstraction, measuring all sorts of other stuff. A sort of mechanical "relevance" or ability to affect the story...

    Goodman Games 3.5 Revival

Dudes, do we _REALLY_ need to have this stupid argument yet again? The one thing I hate about the OGL is how it's spawned 8 years of people going "Uh huh!" "Nuh uh!!" If you feel like getting your internet lawyer cap on and preaching your vision of what the OGL rules "really are", can't you do...

    Crusaders are awesome!

What OGL product is being talked about here? Or is this actually a WotC book?

    Challenging Challenge Ratings...again

Errr... just out of curiosity... Did v6 ever get done? I've no clue if it'd be substantially different from v5, but figured I'd ask. Post 10 of this very thread (2 and a half years ago) mentions a v6, so... *shrug* Like I said, just asking. I just dug through this thread and found I'd asked...

GSL extended to 3.5 in March 2009

Too bad the thread title is "OGL" instead of the actual "GSL", those being two rather distinct creatures.

    Trailblazer Teasers (collected)

From what I've seen, GM's don't tend to find this such a problem because they're "in control" of it. By which I mean, they can decide if there's going to be wands/potions/whatever available, they have options to take it away, and they've got options for flat-out denying the use of a particular...

    SRD Monsters in Excel format?

HA!!!! I _finally_ managed to track the %^#$%^% thing down. Since it seems likely to be lost in the future, I'm going to upload it and just include the relevant information. Source: http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35misc/35srdtables.htm Author: Glenn Peirce aka Seeker95 Turns out...

Deeds not Words. Where can I find it?

I'm not entirely sure what the history of this is, but my understanding is that the person behind Phoenix Project was basically given/bought the rights to Deeds Not Words. You can get a copy of the rules here: phoenixprojectrpg : The Phoenix Project Basically, even though everyone's enamored...

    Trailblazer Teasers (collected)

I keep meaning to poke by and then forgetting...but finally I remembered. :) One of the things about the whole 10 minute rest thing... I ran an E8 game for about a year and right at the outset the group wound up acquiring an item that basically did a Cure Light Wounds every couple of rounds...

    Wahoo vs. Traditional

Bah. I'm going to avoid the whole "name game" thing with what "wahoo" means. The OP's definition is good enough for me: Wahoo all the way. Screw medieval, screw LotR. I've had that for 20 years and I'm _done_.

Forked Thread: HF vs. S&S gaming and rethinking my priorities

One of the reasons I was so happy to get Ptolus is because it's an awful lot like what you're talking about here. A ton of different things going on in the setting that the players can get involved in as they go around leveling up. It cuts a huge amount of work out of the GM prep. The whole...

    SRD Monsters in Excel format?

Hmmm. That might be it. If you remember where you got it (or find a copy), let me know would you? The edition isn't really a problem for me. To be perfectly honest, while I started 3.x using 3.5, I've been thinking I might want to try 3.0; I still haven't seen a lot of good justification for the...

    Should Level Top Out?

Sure, I'm all in favor of a level cap. In fact, I ran an E8 game that went quite nicely. Right now I'm working on a d20 project that's putting a final cap of level 10 and a spell level cap of 5th level. While plenty of people want "unlimited" leveling, my experience has been that most GMs start...
