    Palladium Fantasy: Why the Hate?

The Palladium fantasy setting has some cool elements. Creating setting material is probably Palladium's real strength as a gaming company. Hate? I don't hate the personal computers I owned between 1985 and 1990 but I wouldn't want to be forced to use them today. Palladium rules haven't...

ROBOTECH RPG - its back, and its new

Mutants & Masterminds would be perfect for Robotech. ;)

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

Are there any D&D constructs that can be created by E6 wizards. The lowest requirement I could find required a 4th level spell. :]

d20 Modern: What Would you change part II

Despite the modern moniker I would use Modern 2.0 rules for science fiction or fantasy games. For sci-fi settings thing Marc Miller’s Traveller, Star Frontiers, Star Wars, or Rifts. Modern rules also work for Steampunk fantasy games.

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

I can't wait to see Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition but I hope that it still has feats so I can play E6: 4.0 . Wizards of the Coast hopes they can extend the sweet spot but I'll believe it when I see it (few if any roleplaying games achieve this goal - but E6 is just that good)! E6 is...

D&D 4E Do you think WotC rebooting Forgotten Realms for 4e would be a good idea?

Based on the (awesome) map in my 3rd edition Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting it looks like Faerun is twice the size of the United States of America. I'd say about 6.3 million square feet. That's huge! Is Toril known to be larger than Earth? So do you think that Wizards of the...

D&D 4E Do you think WotC rebooting Forgotten Realms for 4e would be a good idea?

Eberron had a very hard time getting traction early on and Wizards of the Coast invested an unusually large amount of money/effort on that project. New worlds are a hard sell! So why would Wizards stick with a Neo-Forgotten Realms. Three simple reasons. R.A. Salvatore sells novels with his...

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

My house rule removes the requirement that flaming weapons first be +1 weapons. Does this help lower the CL of a flaming sword?

Sword and Sorcery Saga v. 1.02 and NEW Adventure Conversion!

Thanks to you, The_Gneech! :D I think your (Saga-based) sword & sorcery rules for spells have the perfect style for my new campaign: China as a fantasy nation. Despite the fact that my games (using non-human races, for example) are High Fantasy, I prefer low magic settings. I especially like...

Fantasy Concepts: An OGL Fantasy Saga Project

In anticipation of Fantasy Concepts :D I working on my new campaign: China as a fantasy nation. I hope to use this game to transition between my current D&D game and 4th edition. Right now my Dungeons & Dragons game is powered by D20 Modern rules but I'm not really happy with the results...

What if China was a fantasy nation?

I'm working on a new campaign world to start my first Fantasy Saga game. A central nation in my game will be based on China c.1200. There are no humans in this game. Which staple fantasy race (drawing on Dungeons & Dragons) would be most compatible with the Chinese cultural legacy of imperial...

D&D 3.x The 4E Monster Manual -- what 3.5 monsters need the axe?

Aboleth - I don't really want to turn my player's characters into skum Achaierai - a giant chicken Arrowhawk - a flying bird that can't Beholder - "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder" but this monster is silly Blink dog - aka Lassie hates cats (I mean displacer beasts) Bulette - look out, land...

Tell me about your best (and worst) campaign endings

An artifact had stolen most off the magic in the world for thousands of years. Spells were very rare outside the sphere of the mages who controlled that device. Upon the climax of the campaign, the party reached this magic-absorbing item. 1. The rogue wanted to free magic from captivity so...

Complete Disagreement With Mike on Monsters (see post #205)

Nope, look again. :heh: There is no difference between the opinions you express and Faction B. You just take issue with my nickname for that group. ;)

Complete Disagreement With Mike on Monsters (see post #205)

See Mokona's Rule #4 - "If it's the size of a house, a chaos beast, five-characters-in-one, or something equally silly then most players will agree that it needs a major overhaul before it can be their character." This means I agree that some capstone monsters like dragons should be treated...

Complete Disagreement With Mike on Monsters (see post #205)

As I read your comment you seem to imply a random (or arbitrary) assignment of numbers for monsters. I want to clarify that I don't think we know that yet. It seems possible to me that standard monsters, which fill one role at a time, will be semi-template. Perhaps we have a Stat Block for...

    Any female game masters?

My wife is the most popular Mrs. Dungeon Master I know. She has run multiple Dungeons & Dragons campaign arcs in her homebrew world from 1997 through today. She got me playing D&D again after I had left because of my loathing for AD&D 2nd Edition and I had gone over to Vampire: the Masquerade...

    Sex and Sexuality in D&D. . .

While my games have had realistic events and people (including a house of ill repute), I've never focused on the off-camera elements such as the "mature" parts. I guess I just try to avoid playing like this Wizards of the Coast employee. (For the record I believe that Mark Rosewater, Head...

    "Functional Equivalent" to Prestige Classes

I always thought multiclassing was fun (perhaps that's why I played Dual Class humans and Fighter/Thief a lot). Prestige Classes were needed in Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition so that multiclassing wouldn't suck.
