    D&D 5E (2014) LL- Subclasses and Complexity

Psionics were a totally different kind of creature, heheheeh... They appeared on 2e on the Complete Psionic Handbook, which described a new class (just one class) with exclusive mechanics. However, almost every race had a raw chance (in a d%) to have a latent psychic power, regardless class...

    D&D 5E (2014) LL- Subclasses and Complexity

In the second edition, fighter, pally, and rangers were warriors. Mage, illusionist, evoker, abjurer, etc... were wizards. Clerics, specialist priests, druids (and later monks, shamans, and crusaders) were priests. Thieves and bards were rogues. Each grouping followed similar mechanics: THAC0...

    D&D 5E (2014) LL- Subclasses and Complexity

Think that the first two levels are the basic training your shadowdancer must have inside the organization before the true secrets are teach to him.

D&D 5E (2014) The Problem with Skill Challenges and a Solution I Use

Perhaps, a solution is do not solve the Tug of War with just one check. Let us say that one side needs three successes on a row to win. The 10-Str elf still is able to win, but the chances are really low to his side.

    D&D 5E (2014) Old settings coming back?

Even if I doubt that it is in the priority list of Wizards, I would love to see Birthright again :)

D&D 5E (2014) Warlords: Martial Healing is where it is meant to be

Agreed. And if I personally do not like martial healing, I will always have the option to houserule it out of my game. But I think it is important to have it for the players and DMs that likes martial healing.

D&D 5E (2014) Mage: Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, Artificers, Psions, oh my.

Wrong. Wizards, sorceres, et al. are subclasses as stated, not options. But each subclass gain a particular spellcasting method (wizards gain spellbook, arcane recovery, school specialization, etc...). As stand, mage is the only class until now that has "subsubclasses", but it is exactly that...

    D&D 5E (2014) New legends and lore.....multiclassing sneak peak

Quite opposite some members of this forum, I really hope that feats remain in the classes and multiclass do not touch that. So, someone like a rogue 3/fighter 3/mage 3 has NO feat at all (he exchanged the feats for the flexibility and traits of these classes).

    D&D 5E (2014) Ummm... Multiclass Rules?

I think some issues are adressed to avoid overcombed multiclassing now. First of all, with apprentice levels, it is less problematic to take just one level of one class and gain many benefits. The first level now gives some benefits, but not so many as 3rd edition. Second, with ability...

D&D 5E (2014) 02/08/13 New playtest packet to released today. [Udate: PACKAGE OUT!][

Traditionally, psionic classes appear later, in one psionic book and not in the phb. And, I must be wrong, but I do not think they will put tieflings on phb (it was not there traditionally until 4e) and much less the dragonborn (a creation from 4e).

I noticed most people complaining about the human, but what about half-elves? Did someone already notice they are just a worsened elf and nothing more, so no motivation to play with one but fluff?

Just 3d6. You roll ONE extra die on a crit, even if a weapon have more than one damage die.

It seems you are correct. In this case, I must add I second the issue this critical seems a bit overpowered ;)

The crit of JUST 2d8. If not, would be 2d12 (doubling the normal damage die). They found a big crit for a weapon (compare greatsword, that goes from normal 2d6 to 3d6 on crit). So, the greataxe does JUST 2d8 on crit (and not 2d12 or 1d12+2d8).

    Third party flavorful magic items

In my home campaign, I use the inherent bonus rule. So NO magical item has any +X thing. To compensate, they tend to do really different things and to be more flavorful to the that campaign scenario. Many of them are 2E items readapted. My players are having fun with them, this is the most...

D&D 4E Is Essentials Compatible with Old School 4ed?

A minor issue... If an Essential class uses themes (a la Dark Sun), just the free encounter power at the first level will be the option to her... Except for the mage, most Essential classes have not encounter or daily attack powers to have the "choose from theme instead" option. For my homebrew...
