🤷 You do you - your independent is different from mine is different from OP Sly Flourish's I'm sure. But he literally put ENWorld at the top of his list, so whatever nuances his definition contains, ENWorld is part of it. Not sure what you mean by "dismissives... about... other publishers"...

I think it's more independent in terms of not bowing to publicly traded corporate interests. I mean, ENWorld is basically Russ and his ragtag band of co-conspirators

I did once, for 2-3 sessions. She was sharp as a tack, and wrote up the session notes in the voice of her bard (or rogue) character. Then she (well, one of her children did the hard work I guess) had a grand-child, and she stopped playing. But she was fun! She's a board and word gamer otherwise...
