    Dumb Expert Feat

if anything, burning a feat is a bit too much. But if a character wants to do it, hell, it's fine.

My simple guide to customizing your world!

I didn't really create my world as a whole... It started with a central kingdom named Caldorian in which the PCs were on one of the major border cities. Basically I just had part of the main continent, and things just sort of build. The map just starts building on itself (this I got help from...

Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules" (PART 4)

Hmm, I've given this a more thorough readover, and.... The idea is cool, and the whole beginning is cool, but I think it starts falling apart a bit in the later levels. There are also some balance issues I find with things like the shifter class (you could get something like 7 castings a day...

Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules" (PART 4)

wow, this is a pretty awesome class. YOINK Just one quick question... the sorcerer gets a familiar, an animal companion, AND a summoned companion?

    Bringing Divination up to par

definitely not a bad school. It only requires you to give up necromancy to specialize in, and it provides A LOT of information to the party. It's one of the most annoying schools for foiling dm traps. I could go on, but I think it's a worthwhile school. Knowledge=Power

Another: Is this race balanced? thread

I think Ra's mandate makes them a balanced race, because even though they can pull some pretty cool spells and especially that soul trapping thing...that mandate just really keeps them pretty screwed in a lot of situations. You may want to rework it a bit as a character playing this race may...

    Was I a jerk?

From your story it sounds like: You were bothering him about the rules too much, he had a bad day, or he likes to win too much :uhoh:. Unless he usually makes split second rules decisions like that. I'd say just let it go (for the first two at least) and get annoyed after the session...

    Cleaving after an AoO

Oh yeah, it's evil to kill that bag of puppies :D. But on a serious note, I'd allow it. If it works by the RAW and isn't completely ludicrous it's fine. Cleave definitely effects DM's more than the players anyways, and a simple way to imagine it without cinematic crazy battle scenes is...

    Entangle: too powerful?

The spell is fine. If one of the DM's encounters is completley destroyed by the spell, then that's player enginuity. Instead of nerfing the spell, he should give his next encounters more ranged attacks, more casters, perhaps better reflex saves. Maybe even lure the druid into casting entagle...

    Earth's Embrace drives me insane

I guess it pays to stay behind the most current books :D But seriously, if you think some of the grappling feats are too weak, then you can always buff them up a bit or make up new ones requiring those "weak" feats that does better things. As long as the DM thinks it's balanced (or if...

Collegiate Wizard feat - big boost to diviners?

seems pretty balanced to me *shrug*

    Dragon Disciples?

hmmm, I've been looking at the dragon disciple, and it seems not to be all that great. It gets some tasty abilities that half dragons don't (wings for medium size, etc.), but is it really worth taking 10 levels in that prestige class instead of 3 for the half dragon template. This especially...

Master of the Hounds Prestige Class

hmmm, the losing dogs seems a bit harsh. I mean, granted it's flavorful for the guy to need time to train new dogs and mourn and such, but...if they're just dogs wouldn't they die a good deal? Then again, they DO have about as many HD as the owner. At any rate, it's cool. If I get the...

Help me create a more wicked Book of Vile Darkness artifact

I've always wanted something like this. I guess you could always make it just an intelligent item with a whole bunch of powers that has its own motives set up by its ancient creator (some perhaps dead deity or somesuch). I've basically got that in my campaign except it's in a "slarcerian...

    Earth's Embrace drives me insane

hmm, I never used EE from complete warrior, I always used it in Rokugan. It seems to be a better feat (dealing critical damage every round you keep the pin). And choke hold is another feat in there that allows you to knock out people by keeping them pinned and having them make fortitude saves...

Targets: One creature/level, no two of which can be more then 30ft. apart.

I remember in one of my first campaigns, for some reason we actually calculated it like that, and believe me, alot more people die! :uhoh:

    Rogue special abilities

hmmm, I voted improved evasion, because it really seems to be the safest way (granted you'll pass most of them, but you hit that crazy specialized wizard or role that 1 and you're toast...usually literally). Then I'd probably get opportunist or skill mastery, both very useful. Slippery mind is...

Grappling Warlocks (continued from closed thread)

I felt I'd restart this thread, as it was pretty interesting, but got closed for behavioral purposes. The original thread is located at http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=108169&page=2 I believe the last significant post was

    Opinions on the Mob subtype?

here's a thread on a created way of doing mobs: http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=99927 The way I chose to deal with mobs is: Swarmed: If a character has 80% of his surrounding squares covered, he is "swarmed." This means that this character is flat footed, AND is still effected...

    Initiative (New Action: Rush)

sounds interesting, and since everyone can use it, there are a few penalties...it seems to hold well together. I guess it'd have to be playtested although it doens't seem to need it, it seems to hold together pretty well.
