    Core Class- Empathetic Healer

looks pretty good. Anyone else have thoughts? Something about classes and PrCs on enworld...they never get much attention...

    Deflect Arrows feat DC

it's automatic?! man, I really need to read 3.5 through in detail. Need to get some more 3.5 metagaming skills :]

    Simple: Barbarian v. Fighter

I think they're about equal. The fighter generally has more versitility (or the harder to get into but fairly powerful prestige classes earlier), whereas the barbarian is good at raging and beating things to a pulp with a melee weapon. Fighters can make excellent archers, and I guess you could...

    Core Class- Empathetic Healer

I'm thinking wisdom, because then he can't really "double up" with extra life AND longer durations for the con modifier. You say he's better than a cleric in combat, but you forget he has no spells :\ .

NEW: What 2nd-level spells should any Wizard prepare?

I chose: Alter self: For all the reasons already stated. Flaming sphere: I mean, it's just cool, and pretty good for 5th level. Having two out is nice. Invisibility: I mean...duh! Others would be pyrotecnics, see invisibility, and web.

OGL "Mob" Type (People Swarm) New! More Dangerous! Manes! Zombies! Elementals! Oh My!

Awesome idea! Although...it doesn't ring true with me... The area spells not completely laying waste to them, power attacks being able to wipe them out, whereas great cleave not being able to tear through them...granted you could make varying affect, but I don't think it's really the same...

    Core Class- Empathetic Healer

hmm, how about giving him steal life per day as the monk's stunning fist (1/level + wis mod I think...) And how about with transfer wounds, he can store them 1 round per wis mod or per level or per something, so he can build up a "damage" pool or something, which would be pretty cool I think...

How to stop a Warlock in his tracks

I really need to get my hands on this warlock class, does anyone have an SRD for it or something?

    Don't quite understand this :(

Take it from me, learning directly from the book isn't very fun at all :D . I'd give the players handbook a readover before playing (just so you have a good amount of knowledge about the game) but having someone explain the rules would no doubt be a much easier way to get started.

    Rhino Death from Above Attack

This reminds me of the "create water" fiasco that a friend of mine (been playing since 1st edition) informed me of. Apparently clerics (and the clever physicisists who played them) had figured out that if they were to caste the spell create water way above the head of a creature, the mass of...

    Sneak attack w/Ray of Frost?

what is this warlock? sounds interesting. Sneak attacks can get a bit fuzzy, but you always have to remember the whole 30ft. thing, the "only partial actions on the surprise round" and such. Plus taking levels in spellcasting classes is levels you could use for more rogue levels, especially...

Why would you ever get Burst weapons?

yeah, burst weapons are cool...but they suck. Generally it's when you find a cool weapon that it just happens to have the enhancement, or if your character has a thing for one element. Also the hunting creatures with a weapon is cool, but generally spending multiple thousands of gold (at least...

    Throwing Munchkins?

I think that's the one thing I always hated about shuriken, they don't count as ammunition. I think every one of them is its own thrown weapon. If it is ammunition, then it wouldn't be able to have returning on it...that whole thing just seems a bit fishy. where does the +10 damage come from...

    Pirate Adventures!!!

wow...that is probably more written down planning than I've ever done in my entire DMing career :D Awesome adventure idea though.

    Epic Ranges for Epic spells

sounds fair when you put in that clause that says "it must be a long casting time." It also gives a good amount of adventure hooks: stopping rituals from destroying the world, etc. I'm not an expert on epic spells, and they can generally get out of hand anyways, so this seems pretty fair.

    Is this race balanced?

They seem about right to me, definitely not overpowered.

    Core Class- Empathetic Healer

perhaps give him some sort of vampric ability, he can take away wounds, but he can also take away life.

    Pirate Adventures!!!

I had a previous campaign taht was mainly water (Using the sefarer's handbook) with a few islands, most of them covered by large cities. This is after some big disaster that covered the world in water, so societies, after building these large cities, are just starting to colonize. However...

    Animal Companion woes...

Animal companions can be pretty useful, but then again they aren't that great, especially for the ranger. I'd probably just throw in a bonus feat. The wizard thing...that does generally become a problem in higher levels. The first powrful enemy that sets his eyes on your horse instead of the...

    Knowledge comes from libraries

Wow, I'd never really thought in detail about how to run libraries. Usually if the characters have some sort of book on a specific subject, if they spend enough time to read it they'll gain whatever knowledge is contained in the book, no matter their knowledge. For libraries, I just generally...
