    Multi-classing Multi-Encounters vs. Daily

Too soon to say without seeing the actual rules. It might even be that "1/day" means "twice in one encounter, one encounter per day". It seems like it should be twice a day, though. Once per day is kinda skimpy, even just compared to other multiclass abilities.

    The Arms Race of Races

Paragon paths don't get at-will powers, though. I'm not sure if classes even get any replacement at-will powers as they level up either.

    The Arms Race of Races

+1 attack/+Cha damage is still inferior to rerolling a missed attack, especially when it's so conditional. Plus it kinda shoehorns tieflings into Charisma-centric classes, which is sorta lame. Most of the +2/+2 races can at least choose classes that emphasize either one of their two bonused...

    The Arms Race of Races

I really hope this isn't a factor. Racial feats should be an option to add a little flavor, not deliberately overpowered relative to normal feats to balance out a subpar race.

    D&D 4E 4e spellbook questions

Makes sense to me. That's exactly how it worked in Vance's stories, actually. A more powerful wizard could hold more spells in his mind, but once cast a spell is gone until he hits the books again.

    Possibly..err...probably..a stupid question

But a power, once recharged, stays recharged until you use it again, right? So even if you recharge the power you want to use that turn, you'd still want to roll for the others to get a better chance of having them available next turn. Incidentally, if the recharge always on a certain number...

    Familiars?

I'm not sad to see familiars delayed. Hopefully they'll work out a way to make them right. Familiars are supposed to help you with spellcasting, not just keep an eye out for ambushes. :/

    Deft Strike and OA's?

It would've helped a lot if they'd just added a few words along the lines of "This basic attack does not count as an opportunity attack." Similarly, the rules for immediate actions should clarify that "interrupting" something doesn't make it not happen.

    Excerpt: Swarms

Other swarms of the same critters. Undead. Constructs. The vile sorcerer-priest of some obscure bug-deity who summoned them.

    A Couple More KotS Questions

And really, if it were that easy for all the enemies to swarm over and kill the fighter, they probably would've done so whether or they got marked. Unless there was something even worse for the party that they could've done, in which case the fighter is making a noble sacrifice by marking them all!

Defenders handing out free attacks (to opponents)

It wouldn't be a substitute for marking, though. While a fighter might benefit from being able to lure in foolish enemies, fighters can only mark enemies by hitting them with melee attacks, so a lure wouldn't be serving the same function at all. And a paladin without divine challenge wouldn't...

    unarmed strikes and weapon proficiencies

I think eladrins get longsword proficiency as a racial thing, don't they? Or did I imagine that?

    Single question about cleric abilities...

Oh, that would be sweet. It's always been a little odd to me that the cure spells can't cure any ailments. Outside of D&D nobody ever talks about "curing" an injury.

Defenders handing out free attacks (to opponents)

If by "sick" you mean "cannot possibly ever work", then yeah... The whole point of a defender is that they're unattractive targets for monsters to attack ('cuz they're harder to kill than other PCs), but they make the other PCs even less attractive by inflicting penalties on monsters who target...

Match the weapon to the group

The only weapons that belong in the "unarmed" category are gauntlets and spiked gauntlets. Maybe punch daggers. Clubs belong pretty clearly in the mace group, I'd say. They might be simple or might be improvised, but maces either way. Assuming the club in question isn't longish and...

    Vancian Magic?

The daily powers for wizards are memorized out of a spellbook. So a wizard has as many "slots" as any character of his level has daily powers. There were no spell slots in any of Vance's writing, by the way. >_<

    Five Alignments?

I kind of expect CE and LG to be the extremes too, but what do titans have to do with it? Are primordials the exemplar of eviltude?

    Five Alignments?

That was me. :) Although my description of evil was more along the lines of calculated, ruthless ambition and/or extreme sadism, compared to the petty greed and violence of chaotic evil. So Asmodeus is evil evil, but a hill giant who just likes smashin' things is merely chaotic evil.

    Tidbits from PHB Viewing

But Dex also influences initiative and some ranged weapons, right? And the Dex skills are kinda sexier. It seems like if Int doesn't have anything else going for it, anyone who doesn't have class abilities based on Int would be better off with Dex. Not to mention the classes that have...

Sorcerer in PHB II: Rich Baker says a little

It would probably take, like, five minutes to design a wizard variant that doesn't have the spellbook or implement dependence. Here, I'll do it right now: Sometimes a child is born with a natural talent for the arcane, wielding wizardly powers without study or training. Gain: +1 enhancement...
