D&D 5E (2014) The D&D Multiverse Part 2- The Remix Culture of the Gygaxian Multiverse

4E was obviously influenced by Video games. Eberron magicpunk vis-a-vis steampunk's rise. To me, Planescape was a ma zing. But I'm GenX, so its post-modern skeptical approach to the Factions was kewl. Nothing more ironic than a faction member saying there are no Gods while he's standing in...

    D&D 5E (2014) classic mythology campaign settings?

I'm looking for a campaign setting that is based on the classic mythological Pantheons. Really my Touchstone is of course the original deities and demigods. I'm open to many of the other world mythologies that do not appear in that book. I would like to include lemuria and Atlantis. I would...

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Growing up in San Diego for my first 10 years the adage was " San Francisco might as well be in another state, and we wished L.A. was"

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

If it's Ethereal, it's Spelljammer. Think Taratuga for the Citadel. If it's Astral, it's Planescape and Sigil. That's why I was confused by Astral Elves being included with (Ethereal) Spelljammer and Star Frontiers races in UA recently.

    D&D 5E (2014) Here's A Look At 3 Adventures from the Radiant Citadel

NOW we know why the Chef Feat recently debuted! I thought it was a Kewl Feat before but now it's my favorite. Bard College of Culinary Arts. doubles Chef feat. With a great chef's knife as a light weapon and magic focus. A bandolier spice rack, including garlic powder for vampires and kosher...

D&D General Not Railroad, Not Sandbox ... What else is there?

Pick-a-Path, or Choose your own Adventure style, with a braided bush of progressive events (2d or 3d matrix). Begin at A1 (upper left) with optional endings at upper right Al# or lower left #1, with end goal at Z# opposite corner of A1. Use symbols for 3rd dimension designations ! @#$&?*, etc.

D&D 5E (2014) Different Methods for Rolling Ability Scores (8-15 range)

1d20 or 2d10 minus -1d4 or -1d6 (with 'advantage' so 2d4 or 2d6 ) where the lower roll is the better/ more adventageous? A pair of ones (snake eyes!) equals -0, so straight roll. My favorite combo is 2d10 (reroll 1s) - 1d6 (w/ lower 'advantage' if over 14) 2d10 (reroll 1s and 2s) + 1d6...

    D&D 5E (2014) Eight Abilities (Str-Con, Dex-Ath, Int-Per, Cha-Wis)

Steeldragon, I second that Emotion steeldragon : (Empathy/Sympathy) (Wis/Cha) or Emotional Intelligence (Int/Cha). In Jungian typological thought you can create four mental functions by combining Perception (Senses/ideas) and/or Judgment (analyis/decisions) with Intro and Extra, resulting in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Announcement Next Week--What Hints For Upcoming D&D Books?

As much as I would love it for to be gamma world, my personal favorite, I think that star frontiers is the more likely of the two because of the additional races that appeared in publication recently. Star frontiers also is very spelljammery because of ships. But oh, to be able to work on Gamma...

    A Question of Religious Character

Regards to the subjectivity of granting of spells by deities and their agents, it is valuable to look into the play of extreme subjectivity with bargaining and cajoling from the spirit/witch/shaman style of receiving spells, where one must deal with a choir of ghosts or fey to get anything...
