Has anyone else just not used a screen? It's always amusing to read and write code, although that's usually not necessary. Just keep things that you don't mind PC's seeing on top of a stack of organized (or not) papers and books, whatever you need.

Depends what's giving that player the DR. Generally, I'd say since you need evil-aligned weapons to penetrate it, and nothing shows up as evil, you can't puncture the DR, so it's equivalent to 5/-. However, I could also imagine limiting exalted or vile feats by your variant, since people can't...

I think you are - you wouldn't ignore the rogue to prevent sneak attacks, you'd ignore the other creature and focus fully on the rogue to avoid being sneak attacked.

So, has anyone actually played where magic missiles completely negate mirror image (or vice-versa) in the manner that some people are arguing for?

I think Favored Souls are balanced, largely because we can't decide whether they're more powerful than or weaker than the cleric. Keep in mind that there are cleric spells that can help against undead that a Favored Soul can learn too. The mass healing spells shouldn't be bad against large...

Yeah, but that's at least a 9th-level caster casting Magic Missile. At that point, I'd hope you have better defenses than Mirror Image. If it were more balanced, there'd be maybe 2 missiles. Chances are that the two images that got hit would disappear, leaving a few more candidates...

They sure didn't make a point of mentioning that anywhere in the 3.5 upgrade of the ELH. Note that the Epic Level Handbook, and the 3.5 changes to it, are OGL. Complete Arcane is not. I can't say that's an effective way to promulgate a rules change...and it's on page 191, by the appendices...
