Oh yea, I thought that was only the username for logging into your account, but it looks like it is indeed for your profile as well.

DMing Advice (Links fixed July 20, 2008!)

Hmm, one I did recently comes to mind... http://www.enworld.org/forum/general-rpg-discussion/276560-weem-s-dm-tips-rp-prompting-immersion.html ...good links here, I think I missed this thread.

    Morrus' daily D&D Twitter giveaway!

On any avatar (including your own) you can click the bottom right icon that shows up when you mouse over it - then select User > View Profile. This will open up a new column that sits on top of them all on the right with profile info (including followers, etc). You can also click your username...

    Morrus' daily D&D Twitter giveaway!

I have been doing this (adding #enworld), but I think I'm the only one so far - and twitter lost some of them recently :( Even better actually (I just looked) there doesn't seem to be any uses of #enw, which is nice since it is shorter. Also Russ, I would consider grabbing a decent 'enworld'...

    Morrus' daily D&D Twitter giveaway!

At the top left side, you would simply select (highlight) both accounts - then, the message you post below will go from both accounts. Additionally, TweetDeck lets you schedule messages (see under the message field on the far right - the clock - so you could set up a number of them ahead of...

    Morrus' daily D&D Twitter giveaway!

"enworld" has been taken, but it looks like enworldorg is available, etc. As far as I know, you can't change your name (effectively keeping all followers). I would grab a new twitter account with a name such as enworldorg (or whatever is there that you would prefer). I would then start posting...

I stink at winging it- HELP!

Good advice so far, especially the calls to not panic! Some things I would mention I have talked about in a previous post, but additionally I want to second the use of characters from movies. I actually have an example from my game last night! The players ended up trying to get some...

Twitter and D&D - How I came to love this combo

It was said here earlier that Twitter is about the immediate conversation (essentially) so, unlike Facebook where you might go back and look at all the updates if it had been a while, for Twitter (via TweetDeck) I (and most others) would only look at the updates that are immediately in view (on...

How much back story for a low-level PC?

I prefer what I have been calling Character Foregrounds (I talk about it here). Working up elaborate backgrounds is fine (I do it sometimes) but I often find I don't use much if any of it. I might use it to base certain characteristics of my character on, but really I find I enjoy coming up...

Twitter and D&D - How I came to love this combo

It helps having 1) a (really) great job that requires me to be online a LOT and 2) a wife that is very busy working on her masters degree ;)

Google Docs improvements - new potential for gaming online?

Google Docs recently made a number of improvements, including real time collaboration (think Google Wave) and Chat... There is some potential for using this to run a game online I think - though I have never done so myself (played online) so I'm not sure. I thought I would drop the video in...

    Energizing your players

It really helps, as a DM, to be excited yourself ;) I wrote (a brief post) about this semi-recently called "Don't Forget the Excitement (when DM-ing)".

Games You Have But Have Never played

I have never run any module/adventure I own (other than part of Sunless Citadel when 3e was new). I always did my own thing. I have played (had run for me) some, but never run myself. I have been wanting to correct this at some point - run an old school game, etc. I have Alternity books as well...

Twitter and D&D - How I came to love this combo

Yea, not so sure it would work well for this purpose. This is pretty much what I was going for - showing people some cool uses of it relating to D&D. I think a lot of people know what Twitter is etc, but not exactly how it can be used beyond the very basic idea of posting a status.

How badly have past DMs screwed up your current Players?

I've never ran games for what I would call broken players. With that said, I have played with some overly cautious players - but I used to be that DM when I was much younger, so I get where it comes from. Not that it's a bad thing, I just go for a much more balanced approach then I used to. I...
