D&D 4E D&D 4e: A Fun, Fast Game that will Eat Your Paycheck

Yeah, that's the impression I was getting. The language seemed... circular, unclear. Again, I'll hold off judgment until I've read through in a more conventional fashon.

    D&D Insider! UP ! (merged)

I can't remember... are we expected to pay for virtual miniatures on top of the DDI subscription price? That's the biggest rub right now.

D&D 4E D&D 4e: A Fun, Fast Game that will Eat Your Paycheck

A little to early to tell. :D :D But, I do think that the game would work well for lots of one-off skirmish games. We had fun just running combats and having "incidental" role-playing, kind of like the origin of D&D when it was a tabletop wargame. For a ten year in-depth game, I'd say it...

D&D 4E D&D 4e: A Fun, Fast Game that will Eat Your Paycheck

Everyone is going to have their two cents on the books, and outside of being D&D enthusiasts and message board warriors, none of us are exceptionally qualified to have our opinions bear more than a passing glance. And I'm not excluded from this. However, since I've been very critical of WotC...

The Only Thing That Matters About 4th Edition - Is It METAL?

It's pretty metal. It isn't Black Sabbath metal or Dethklok metal... but it's metal.

Another Bookstore Releasing the Books Early

I encountered the same thing: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=228854 Really, though, what's going to happen to these big booksellers? Will they be fined? I really doubt WotC is going to stop selling through buy.com, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Borders, Waldenbooks -- each one of...

    Am I "that guy" now?

On my way to my FLGS yesterday morning, I stopped by a local big bookstore. They had the 4e books on the shelf. I asked the manager to double-check the release date on the books -- he did, and seeing the hard release date, went to pull the books off the shelf. Do I qualify as a do-gooder now...

D&D 4E The (lack of a) Bag of Rats Problem in 4e

Back in my day, we carried our bags of rats on the end of our 10' poles, AND WE LIKED IT.

4ed PDFs - Are you still getting the books?

Around this corner of meatspace, the .pdfs have created a buzz of excitement and anticipation for the books. Compare this to the WotC preview series, which I never heard anyone express anything positive about. (Again, in this corner of meatspace, the internet or your FLGS may vary)

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

Don't worry, guys! The core books will be error free. There will be no 4.5 edition. These aren't the droids you're looking for. :D http://www.enworld.org/forums/showpost.php?p=4218854&postcount=3 (:bmelee: Please note that Scott was writing in the spirit of mirth in the above link. )

    Will buy.com get sued?

Judging from the print quality of KotS, I'd say that WotC needs to find a new printer anyway.

    D&D 4E Should WotC Release 4E Now?

I don't think the .pdf will hurt sales. First, the cost of printing out the books would be around $58.00, not including the cost for binding (the cheapest being a 3-ring binder of some kind) or tax. This assumes around 7 cents a page, which is the cheapest rate any of my local copy shops...

    Will buy.com get sued?

Well, the FLGS's only edge over most big bookstores and online retailers was that they could have midnight releases for the 4e books. I don't blame the customers of buy.com at all -- you guys got lucky! But I do think that if WotC is serious about having it's product in small FLGS, they will...

    d20 Monsters to OD&D/BD&D

After reading about Fight On! on the OD&D boards, I began a futile quest to track down a mimeograph machine in the area for my own OD&D style zine -- sadly, even the "Classic Style Printing" place didn't have one!
