    Critting with a Vorpal Weapon?

Hmm, that's an interesting question. My ruling would actually be: D) Max weapon damage + crit dice, reroll any crit dice that max out. What's the minimum plus on vorpal again? +5 at least, yes? (don't have the books handy today). So that's Max damage + 5dX, rerolling and adding any of the...

Question about being Slowed and Double Moving

Mmm, I'd read it as "Due to heavy armor your speed is currently X-1. Now you've been slowed so that speed is now 2." Apply the heavy armor speed penalty FIRST (since it's always in effect while you're wearing the stuff), then the Slowed effect reduces your now-modified speed to 2.

Bolstering Strike abuse - infinate temporary hitpoints??

Aye, it's very simple and right in the definition of Temporary HP -- they don't stack. You only ever have the amount of Temp HP provided by the highest source. If you have 3 Temp HP and then get hits by a power that provides 5 Temp HP, you now have 5, not 8. The pally in your example will...

D&D 4E Heavy Concrete Data on 4e's Skill Challenge System (long, lots of tables)

Considering it's not in the context of that page, no. I'll stand by the way I read that page, thank you very much.

D&D 4E Heavy Concrete Data on 4e's Skill Challenge System (long, lots of tables)

I keep looking at the table on p42, looking at the footnote, and looking at the section right above it, and I keep coming to the same conclusion each time. The footnote is relevant if and only if you're trying to set ad-hoc DCs for some wacky idea a character has come up with for a one-off...

    Crescendo of violence

While you can't replace them, you can retrain utility powers by swapping them for one of the same level or lower, so you could at least switch it out for one of the other level 2 utilities when it's time and usefulness have passed.

    D&D 4E 4E Sample Combat: The Terrasque

As was mentioned by someone else, I'd consider the stun effect to come from the fear component and rule him immune to it.

    Trip? Disarm? Sunder? Gone forever?

Count me in the group cheering the demise of Sunder. Most absolutely annoying thing I've ever faced as a player is having the DM toss in a guy with that damned sword Shatterspike just to take out our weapons. If I never have to make sure that my first good weapon is adamantine (always...

    Claim that name!

Probably? Heh, I do answer to Stormtalon -- well, more often it's shortened to Storm or Stormy, but yeah. I met my current D&D group online and that's how they knew me, then when we started D&D, it just kept carrying on. For a while, my kid would even call me Storm -- but only when we were...

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The specific rule is that minions take no damage from an attack that misses, which means things that do 1/2 or lesser damage on a miss don't affect them. In order for this rule to come into play, you have to do something that requires an attack roll AND which would still do damage if it misses...

    An Example Character, Levels 1-30

Question -- in the level 30 version, does the weapon's +6 bonus stack with the +6 damage to basic attacks from his bracers? If so, I think his basic attack damage is a tad low....

    An Example Character, Levels 1-30

I counted 1d10+21, actually. Here's the breakdown I saw: +5 from Str +2 Dwarf Weapon Talent +2 Weapon Focus +6 Power Attack +4 Kensai ability +4 Weapon Enhancement *edit -- never mind, I can't add today*

"My hat of flight noes know limits"

Well, my reading of "10 squares off of ground" would count rooftops as being ground for the purposes of the spell (and quite frankly, I can't see it being read any other way -- too literal of a reading and flight would suddenly cease to function over water which is patently illogical), so you'd...

"My hat of flight noes know limits"

So, flight is borderline possible at level 6 (Arcana Trained, Focus, 20 Int: 5 + 3 + 5 + 3 = 16, + aid from at least 2 other party members means Nat 20 gives flight, if I have all the mods correct), but more likely to happen as you move thru Paragon tier. Knew I'd missed at least one important...

"My hat of flight noes know limits"

Might someone who has the PHB via buy.com's spirit of early generosity look in the ritual section and give the level of Phantom Steed, and perhaps the component costs? That's flight right there. You get up to 8 flying mounts that last 24 hours each AND with a built-in feather-fall ability on...

Never Say The Fans Don't Matter

However, look in the list of Rogue powers very carefully and you'll find that it yet lives in print. Have to say, I smirked when I saw that whilst browsing the pre-release books at my FLGS. :)

    Core Handbook Errors Discussion

I would like to report the exact same error on my part -- amazing coincidence! Also, to forestall any further reports of this error, I'd like to include the fact that an untold number of us may be ready to report it as well!
