    Matt Colville weighs in.

Aren't there already 2 D&D MMOs? In comparison to WoW how are they doing? Do they charge anything close to $30/month? Since 2000 how well has D&D digital initiatives fared?

Sale 43 Advanced Adventures (1e modules) in a Bundle of Holding

Thank you, Joe, I purchased it as a show of support despite the fact that I had already purchased the previous Advanced Adventures Bundle of Holding on back in 2017. I also like that it included both of the Malevolent and Benign monster (or should I say "fiend") folios. If you offer any more 3.x...

    Legal Discussion of OGL 1.2

"Wut, they're claiming Ultraman kaiju knockoff toys as PI! Can they do that?" https://www.flickr.com/groups/patchisaurs/

    Legal Discussion of OGL 1.2

I still think there would have been a large outcry (probably not as large as it was, but still a large one) even if they did unilaterally changed just that. What would stop Wizbro from unilaterally changing it again (or even completely abrogating it) in the future? Wizbro should have waited...

    Legal Discussion of OGL 1.2

    Legal Discussion of OGL 1.2

You mean this one where it seems that the Wizbro leadership thinks they can turn D&D into a billion (with a B) dollar property by nickel & diming all players through an MMO like VTT? : 9:04 'I believe Kale and team have a standing game of D&D every Friday night, but I don't believe Cao has ever...

My thoughts on the new OGL v1.2 draft

Here Raggi lays out some levelheaded, well-reasoned opinions & gives multiple historical examples of how similar "morality clauses" have existed in the past. He wonders how a "morality clause" might be used as a bludgeon if publicly held social mores drastically change. Here also gives a...

Which is a years long extrapolation of a short article Gygax wrote in the July 1977 issue of Dragon Magazine #8, page 4. I addressed this issue in part in a post I made in another thread regarding monsters Wizbros claims as so-called IP. Like Jimmy "Superfly"?! I wish I could have seen that.

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

Do you you really think Wizbro wants to roll the dice against Blizzard/Activision's warchest? I think they'd only want to flex against 3PP that they know they significantly dwarf.

And then the Saul Zaentz Company (doing business as Tolkien Enterprises) slapped them w/ a C&D. Hobbits became halfings, Balrogs became balors, Ents became treants, etc...

No, it was Record of Lodoss War. The ironic thing being that it was directly based on the author's actual D&D campaign. I'm more partial to Wrath of the Righteous. Yeah, I agree Wizbro screwed up by not making more of their obvious licensing opportunities the past 23 years.

Then Hasbro should have been focusing on that back in 2000 instead of selling off their software division & hawking the D&D game rights to Infogrames. That can't claim they didn't know or had no idea. It was already obvious by this time this was goig to be a big thing. Warcraft, Diablo, Ultima...
