Agree ^^ Based on the review of Glitterdoom, a 13 chamber dungeon with an item or two and a new monster is not worth $10. Nor would I even classify it as an "Adventure" as they have.

Depends on the situation.. If they have the time, no rush no worries, exploration at their leisure can be very old skool. But if time is important, make them aware. If they dont get the magical idol from the dungeon within 4 days the princess will be sacrificed and all will be lost.

Agree. I think a slayer build would be a more elegant solution than just a patch. But for now your idea works. Maybe even grant the ranger advantage in the first round of combat against favored enemies. Cannot be surprised by them, etc.

Its the meta game way to do it, but yes, the PC should ready the action for the BBEG to do anything, and then PC spell is cast. Now if the BBEG fails, he loses his action, and the full next turn goes, and the PC can ready a new action.

An evil or manipulative diplomat or king or queen with a few high powered supporters is much, much more evil than a random BBEG, dragon or what have you.
