Aleksey
Aleksey tries to force a smile at Penny's levity, but the gloom does make it difficult.
He looks up into the grey and frowns himself, unable to note any sort of position for... whatever acts as the sun in this place.
"Anybody know how to find north?"
Haken moves about the inn's courtyard, ensuring the House Vantri party is well underway with its preparations. He smiles warmly as he sees the eager Roy Stone pitchign in where he can.
Boy'll fit in well he thinks. No Vantri ever shied away from hard work.
He beckons to Adham, and tells him to...
Wow. My list is much shorter...
A Song of Ice and Fire
Hobbit/Lord of the Rings
Hitchhikers Guide
Tons of other books I like, but For several I can readily admit they're far from classics.
Buffy, Firefly, ST:TNG, and DS9 get enough repeat viewings, and have worked themselves into my vocabulary to be called "all time favs", while Futurama, Simpsons, BSG, and Lost are just on the cusp.
Just to clarify - the goblin above ground did not "carefully smear blood" on a runestatue. He leaned against one to catch his breath and left a smear behind... I'm all for players speculating on what their characters haven't witnessed, but like to try to keep them accurate on what they have.
EXT. DAY - ALLEY
Steven and Rory stand about the wrecked alley, with Sandra a few feet away at the entrance. Rory is less than convincing in his strong, silent role.
SANDRA
(distracted)
Amulet? No... no it's just a chain. But no, no I haven't found it yet.
I just live around the corner. My...
The goblin looks puzzlingly at the runestatue, and you best describe its reaction as a disinterested shrug. "Not know. Strange statue there first; tribe never have good luck messing with statues - tribe don't touch 'em."
The slight breeze gently tossing Kjula's thread about is warm, escaping...
I can't speak for the other players, but I know things have been busy for me lately, and I like trying to let each player get a response in before I do an update.
That said, I'm not unconvinced that I've thrown too many balls into this juggling act; I hope I haven't overwhelmed anyone with...
The goblin struggles on Dossk's shoulder for only a moment before slumping in defeat.
"Why help you?" it asks sullenly. "What benefit? You let me go after?" It shakes its head, expecting to disbelieve any positive response.
Across the chamber, as Kjula finishes wiping the blood from the...
Just the old "at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh month" part about signing the WWI armistice; dunno if there was significance (beyond "hey memorable!") to that time and date.
INT. DAY - HOSPITAL WARD
Nursing staff move about doing their rounds, although most are tense and jittery at any long noises. In the background, a young woman with an amputated leg can be seen in her room, attended to by a few nurses and aides.
Two security guards patrol the area, but not...
The few evil characters I've played have been less megalomanical and more... uncaring might be the best word. It's not necessarily that they wish others harm, but they have no problem with inflicting such if it serves their own ends. Typically, to differentiate this just from neutral characters...
Research is Intelligence + Occultism, with a modifier based on your Occult Library quality. For those unclear (or unpossessing of the rules), aiding is the same roll, but every success (9-10: 1 success, 11-12: 2 success, etc...) the aider gets gives a +1 modifier to the main check.
INT. DAY - RECHARD'S STUDIO
Rory is examining the silver rosary cross Juno found. He pays particular attention to the detailed work - the engravings seem to trigger a memory.
RORY
Now this here - this is a symbol o' St. Hubert. Saint o' hunters, mathematicians, and the fella to invoke to cure...
