Gods of Time and Space --> What code for clerics?

as the goddess of space (as in distance, not the Outer Dark) her travel aspect could also be extended to cover dimentional/planar travel. Depending on the alignment of the goddess I can think of three general ideas. Preserver: dedicated to preserving the barriers between planes. Gains the...

    The War Nerd on 300

that article was good for a laugh... i'm always amaized at the number of people who go to see a movie and expect historical accuracy. I dont remember "compleltly accurate recreation of the Battle of Thermopoly" as being the tag line for 300. Shall we complain about the historical inaccuracies...

    BattleStar Galactica:Season 3.5--3/25/07--Arc 20 (Season Conclusion)

Awsome ending... in many ways completly unexpected (that is, twists throughout). Though there are now a lot more questions then before: 1) if those are part of the final 5 then who is the last one 2) where has Starbuck been all this time 3) Who are Baltars cultests

Why did the era of primordial evil end?

"Nor is it to be thought (ran the text as Armitage mentally translated it) that man is either the oldest or the last of earth's masters, or that the common bulk of life and substance walks alone. The Old Ones were, the Old Ones are, and the Old Ones shall be. Not in the spaces we know, but...

What's better Power Attack vs. Weapon Focus

Its a bit to wide open a question. Both are good feats for different types of characters. Rogues, Archer types, and some melee builds work better with weapon focus over power attack. But for straight up melee builds power attack is better (that gets better and better at higher levels)...

    [Ravenloft] Barovian architecture?

Horror Movie Gothic. Think crumbling eastern European villiages

    Demographics

I've never found the exact population distribution to be an important piece of information, there are as many fighters, rogues, and barbarians as are needed for a specific adventure. As a general rule level distribution is as follows: 1st-2nd: an apprentice or someone else just out of...

    Linking CHA and Beauty

Though I dobut those studies factor in other species (as would be present in a fantasy universe). Why would Trolls have the same standards of beauty as Elves? If you want to have a way to represent exceptional attractiveness / uglyness (if thats a word) then perhapse feats will work. Pretty...

    "South Park" season premier

I didnt care for the episode that much... I hardly even smiled through it (except the parts that dealt with Cartman). In the end the episode with the F-word was much better.

New players only at level 1?

I'd never start a character off at a significatly lower level. As has been pointed out above, there is little that a first level character can do to help a much higher level character (aside from getting 'pwnd'). If someone new to the game joined the group then I'd help them build a character...

Knights: more like Tony Soprano than Lancelot ~the History Channel

Knights in the early Middle Ages weren't the peak of virtue? Next you'll tell me that Samurai's couldn't cut buildings in half with their katanas! In all seriousness, I am rather sick of being told that bad things happened in the past (as though I should be supprised)

So... yea, now the series seems to be going off on its own merry way...

What enemies do you use in D&D combat?

Humanoids are the most common opponent I've used, though undead / outsiders are probably a close second.

We went from 5 saving throws to...64!

Saving throws are usualy passive, while skills are active in nature.

Have you ever seen a wizard not maxed out?

Because it ensures that a wizard HAS a high intelligence, and because its part of the wizard (or other caster) flavor in D&D (IE only the smartest/wisest can cast the most powerful spells)

[Poll] What aspect of balance causes the most problems?

PC vs PC is the most troublesome, because it is the hardest to compensate for. PC vs Challenge can be compensated by scaling the encounters (up or down) Option vs Option seems to be more a subset of the PC problem, rather then an independent issue.

    Adventurers and Society

Adventurers are not realy a recognized group IMC. Most such groups are considered mercenaries (or bandits if they have a bad rep, free knights if they have a good rep). As a group gains more power they would also gather allies (and enemies) among the various political powers they interact...

I hate Tolkien: suggest a fantasy setting.

Warhammer RPG is out now, and is very much an un-Tolkien game. It has the classic races (Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Orcs, ect...) but they a very different feel. Elves are arrogant beings who see themselves as above everyone else. Dwarves are so obsessed with honor that they will go to war...

Zombie Plagues in your Campaign Setting

I ran a brief adventure with a 'zombie plague'. The mindless essence of a necromancer escaped from a mine and infected the mining town. By the time the party arived there were no survivors (the party was hired to find out why shipments had stoped). The essence took the form of a mist, and was...

You Don't Talk Shop at the Dinner Table

The table is wide open, though my players are close outside of the game. We all share similar (though not identical) views on most major issues.
