Level Up (A5E) Help me understand the Marshal

All I can add to this: Wielding a Rogue is better than any weapon a Fighter could hope for, and being Valrei's Rogue weapon is fun and very strong indeed. Being nigh unable to miss attacks due to Mark Foe and the Tactician die is great for high-damage single attacks. We did mock him when he...

Level Up (A5E) Berserker too strong?

That's pretty strong indeed. I just wonder how it stacks up to other classes. My cutthroat spear thrower rogue build at lvl 18 will use Quickdraw to attack with advantage when we roll initiative. Given I hit an enemy it will become a critical hit due to the lvl 17 cutthroat feature, which will...

Level Up (A5E) Circular Breathing RAW shenanigans

I have always ruled that consumed components cannot be substituted by a focus, but you're right; I cannot find rules stating this.

Level Up (A5E) Circular Breathing RAW shenanigans

Circular breathing provides waterbreathing, bard QOL, and advantage against gases or breath-related dangers. At first level it has a duration of 5 minutes, which increases at higher levels. To combat effectively recasting this every time just before the duration ends to make it pseudo-permanent...

Homebrew Level Up Roll20 Character Sheet is live!

Changes are live! :D Found a small bug: passive skills take 10 + ability scores instead of 10 + ability modifiers at the moment (so at 10 dex and no proficiency I get 20 passive stealth, instead of 10, and at 0 dex I get 10 passive stealth instead of 5).

It does save them for me when I add them via the settings (cogwheel icon), but not if I type them directly into the line.

Homebrew Level Up Roll20 Character Sheet is live!

Absolutely love the work you do on this! Would it be possible to add crit range to the Attacks & Spellcasting lines? Especially useful for berserkers and rogues, and anyone that gets hands on some of the Razor's Edge maneuvers. I personally make my own macro's for the attacks I make with my...

Level Up (A5E) An eldritch whip + added damage clarification

I am not sure if 'Additional damage' and 'Extra damage' are keywords that are being used consciously, but if it is the case, I would count 'Extra damage' (Dragoncult's Damaging Umbra, Rogue's Sneak Attack, Ranger's Hunter's Target) as part of the Eldritch Whip damage, and 'Additional damage'...

Level Up (A5E) The numbers on artisan tools

I saw the Dwarf's Creator's Blessing, and started wondering which artisan tool would net you the most money. I know making money is not hard, nor a goal in itself, but I felt like running some numbers. So below is a simple chart that calculates the flat gold per hour reward at DC for each of the...

Homebrew Level Up Roll20 Character Sheet is live!

Can confirm, attacks don't roll advantage for me as well. Also: some issues with passive ability scores: The math seems to be 8+proficiency instead of 10+proficiency. And in the skill menu the bonus to passive checks applies to regular checks as well.

Level Up (A5E) More love for archers?

I quite like this idea, however: It would make BZ even more of a requirement for going ranged. It would still expand options within the tradition though. I think flavourwise, most traditions have a distinct feeling to it; heavy juggernaut, nimble duelist, underhanded tactics, teamwork... But...

Homebrew Level Up Roll20 Character Sheet is live!

Is it possible to add higher expertise dice to the options? My rogue now has a d10 expertise die with a poisoner's kit (several rogue knacks, the cutthroat subclass), but they are not in the selection list. If I fill it in manually, it doesn't work either.

Level Up (A5E) More love for archers?

I think one problem is that the Biting Zephyr basically already adds most of what you would want as an archer; more range, safety in melee, some tricks. The same goes for the only ranged fighter subclass: Sharpshooter. You basically get all you ever need at level 3. So generic bow-character will...

Level Up (A5E) So I guess WotC thought A5E had some good ideas

I mean, if I were to write a new tabletop system, I would absolutely steal all the good stuff from other editions and write new mechanics for the stuff that I didn't like or had good/better ideas about...

Level Up (A5E) Conservatively Adding New Classes

I could see an adaptation of the 3.5E Summoner getting Con/Cha save proficiencies. A class that has a narrow list of supporting spells, and focuses on using a very modular permanent companion for the majority of combat power. There is a very fine line regarding balance here, as making the caster...

Level Up (A5E) Hard Walled by Queen Bee Berserker Build Idea

I think the difference is mainly that now even small races can get access to dex-based d12 weapons, which they otherwise could not (kusarigama with Feel My Sting would make a non-heavy d12 str weapon that still allows for Furious Critical). Dual wielding is not a problem with Queen Bee at least...

Level Up (A5E) Hard Walled by Queen Bee Berserker Build Idea

Very cool, thanks for the clarification! I will be playing the character (Dex Kobold Queen Bee Berserker) in the upcoming weeks, if it feels problematically powerful or overtuned I will let you know.

Level Up (A5E) Hard Walled by Queen Bee Berserker Build Idea

I have been trying to solve a very similar puzzle over the last weeks: A Dex-based Kobold Queen Bee Berserker. The Kasurigama solves one of the problems, but not the other. It is a dual-wielding two-handed weapon, which would qualify for Feel My Sting and Furious Critical without the need for...

Level Up (A5E) Berserker too strong?

    Oh that is relatively easy, as all the regular attacks fall out and the only concern is missing: 0.25 * 0 + 0.75 * [(0.25 * (7+4) * 2) + 0.75 * {0.25 * (7+4) * 4 + 0.75 * (7+4) * 6}] = 38.16. Multiattack and usage of Cleaving Strikes would net you: 38.16*2 + 0.9375*38.16 = 112.10 expected...
