So how do you know a fire isn’t a ghost? Since you cannot say what it is, there is nothing to say that a ghost isn’t fire.

But unless you already know what a ghost is and what a fairy is, then there is no way to tell which was the cause. What you need to do is describe a thing, call it a ghost, and then try and fail to prove that thing is not real.
