Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

That visual makes me think of Delia Derbyshire, for some reason. The fact she did the original Dr Who theme using tape loops just makes me boggle.

D&D 5E (2014) Quick way to fix class balance if you don't use the assumed adventuring day

Or just shorten short rests (I actually grabbed an idea from Cypher and have them take progressively longer) and apply some hard narrative pressure. The combination has seemed to work well at my tables, though obviously YMMV.

ToV Some questions regarding the Game Master's Guide

Plausibly, but you're actively giving up what are arguably more like core features--though really, I've never seen a cleric in play as anything other than a caster straddling support and offense. (Though the tweak for the Armor of Shadows warlock invocation in ToV is probably what I'd grab for...

ToV Some questions regarding the Game Master's Guide

I have not seen anything like either of those two things in anything KP have published for ToV. The latter, you're functionally making a new core class, the guidance for that might be useful, but it's very general guidance.

ToV Some questions regarding the Game Master's Guide

KP have published some lineages that gain spells, but I haven't been allowing those (I have a pretty restrictive whitelist). I've adapted some of those features into various lineages (and I think there are some in their sources--especially the Campaign Starter books that came out after the ToV...

ToV Some questions regarding the Game Master's Guide

I actually moved to ToV (though the game I'm running in 2014 stayed there, because I didn't wanna change things out from under the players. Just letting you know some of where I'm coming from on this ... Mostly it's stuff like firearms, Dread/Horror (what a lot of older games would have called...

I hate to be that guy, but I think the word you want here is "epistolary."

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Makes sense. I know less about dogs, but cats need to be socialized to people when they're a few weeks old; I imagine there's a similar point for dogs, and I can see cats being socialized to dogs at the same time.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Absolutely. Cats tend not to do well with even well-behaved big dogs. The difference, like just in size, between a ten-pound housecat and a hundred-pound dog is real--especially to the cat.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yeah, no real arguments. Being told that, for instance, the only pronunciation of "pedophile" or its derivatives we can use has a long e in the first syllable doesn't feel so much like an attack, in the sort of professional context I was in. Especially when there's "I've never heard this word...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I can see the psychology behind what you're saying, but context might matter for that? When I worked recording audiobooks (contracting for the Library of Congress) we were obligated to get the pronunciations correct, per specific sources, and I don't think the narrators were backing away from...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

There's plausibly some of that around here, too. A very quick poke-around on the Internet tells me that the Move Over laws have (at least mostly) been written to like a template that A) includes "if possible" and B) mandates slowing down if it isn't possible. (The law where you are might not be...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

There's a similar law here in Maryland that has the proviso "if possible" in it, and pretty clearly is not intending or expecting people to cause accidents or make traffic even worse than the flashing lights would already make it. I do it kinda automatically these days (after checking that I'm...
