    D&D General Should you Multiclass?

I find that with 5e (.5e) the subclasses do so much to fill in what multiclassing should be or was in older editions. If you want a fighter or rogue with some spellcasting- there is something for you. Same with pretty much any other combination you want. Most every time I have seen MCing is...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I would still argue that the action being used by the PC is to cast a spell and not to make an attack. The spell allows you to make an attack as part of the action being used. If the spell was different somehow and was a free action or such that allowed you to use it while making a attack...

D&D General Circle Magic and New Spells: Gain Mastery Over the Weave

Looks like those spells and the idea of circle magic is more for the DM and plot reasons. There might be some high level PCs that can drop a 25,000gp gem and have a circle of casters that can spend 3rd level spells to power the circle, but I'm thinking the PCs need to stop the bad guys creating...

D&D General One Shot Idea: The Boy George episode of A-Team, but with dwarves

Sounds like there is a joke in there someplace.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

The PCs action for the round is being use to do what? Is it swing a sword or cast a spell? It seems to me that it is used to cast a spell. Then the sword attack is part of that action.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

I first read the title and thought, oh heck no- that is just cheese. But, I have come around reading the rest of the posts and think it is allowed. Still cheese but allowed.

    D&D General Best Adventure I Haven't Run?

I have not run Saltmarsh yet, but it is on my short list. I want the next campaign to be the new starter, but it just looks a bit meh for seasoned players.

D&D 5E (2024) Forgotten Realms Question: Do followers of Bane engage in sacrifices?

If it works in your campaign, then yes. There can also be different levels of priest and different alignments and even sects inside the church. These all can practice slightly different things. As the god of tyranny, hate, and terror, I can see having public sacrifices as a good means to show...

D&D General Player: Gaining influence in d&d

Poor people. The have less time to socialize and read the newspaper. This means you can tell them things and be believed more easily. Combine this with free healthcare healing for then and they will follow you. Fastest way to 10k.

    Long-term survival rules?

I would also have a subsystem where someone rolls 2d6 or 2d10 to get really bad stuff to mostly average stuff to really good stuff happens. Have mini-quests for the PCs to do things to help the town survive. Have a chart to track the things like getting food or oil or making peace with the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Why doesn't D&D have fire arrows?

It should be under actions that you can do all day. Fighters can fire a second arrow at 5th level. Arrows that are actually on fire with some sort of movie magic cloth or strapped with explosives are cool and we should have this. Maybe ranged combat is too powerful but they could reduce the...

D&D General Favorite Creepy Monster To Run?

I recently ran some of the new mummy against the PCs and the auto mummy rot on a hit made them scared. Wraiths have the cannot heal above the current HP makes for some tougher fights later on.

    WotC D&D Universes Beyond

It seems a bit like when I go golfing and people just want to play a best-ball match with a couple partners for fun and not worry about each of your shots and counting everything. It is fun, but not for everyday. If it can stay in its own box and only come out for 1-shots and such and for a...

    Harvest Festivals

I combine mine with the RenFaire and have lots of food like giant turkey legs and special logo ale-steins that give you free refills. Throw in some games like axe throwing or dagger throwing for gold and betting on the jousting. I like to throw in rumors all day about who and how the jousting...

Would you purchase an expansion, from a different system than you use, to adapt for your preferred system? If yes why?

I tend to just play the newest D&D. I take stuff from the older editions to use, mostly lore and some adventures. I also have taken maps and dungeons from other OSR systems and might from the newer things like Daggerheart and such as I find them or someone tells me about a rule that I need...

    D&D 5E (2024) [+] What does a non-spellcaster Psion need/look like?

I view them as just another type of magic, since it creates an effect from about nothing. If is cannot be dispelled I fear that things would be back to 2e days with either not using them or everyone would use them since the modules tended to only deal with the traditional classes. It was the...

    D&D 5E (2024) [+] What does a non-spellcaster Psion need/look like?

This is where I was reading the thread title. I was thinking a non-caster would be more a fighter or fighter/monk maybe. I keep seeing taking spells and making them 'powers' or 'Jedi mind trix' but to me they are all just spells. So, I'm not sure if there can be a non-caster psion to me...
