Ego whip traditionally either causes damage, or decreases ability scores, or both, or imposes a condition. This does none of that.

Ten minutes of attacking every monster you can walk thru? That would be insane. It's a spell that allows you to move thru enemies and cause them damage. One round is the correct amount.

As I said, though, these rules don't really interact with other rules at all. And, I don't think I've ever had a player in 40+ years quote a price from the game rules. Could just be the dozens and dozens of people I've played with, though.
I've never understood this. The DM controls how much money there is, and what things cost. This is a table issue, imo. It's much different that other aspects of the game, as it's pretty independent of all the other rules.
